Interesting you do chest and back on the same day.
I've read that a lot of guys will hit their chest hard, but back not so much.
I try to leave legs for Fridays but I can't. Everyone wants to do legs on Friday to rest them on the weekend.

I don't have a routine..do like 150-200 pull ups per week..push ups..dips..core exercises...bike around 50 miles per week...I don't lift weights..those are for people who can't or don't want to fight..
Pull ups are like the best exercise there is. That and squats.
I think a lot of people confuse pull ups with chin ups though.

pull ups, dips, squats, deadlifts and bench press are all among the top tier exercises

You're right.
Basically all the core "strength training" stuff.

I don't do deadlifts. I think I did them for a short while in high school. I've always had strong, big legs. And now-a-days, since I haven't done deadlifts in over 15 years, I don't know the correct form and I'm afraid I'd hurt myself.

Barbell squats and goblet squats for now.

Every once in a blue moon someone will tell me, "you should do tri's & shoulders with your chest because they compliment each other". But my shyt works straight for me.

Ya pull ups are the true test of upper body strength..not bench presses..last week I started pulling myself up over the bar one day like those street work out videos..can't do it anymore..I'm slacking..but give me a few weeks and I'll start doing it again..

I've never done any chin ups tho

Try to do them again but start light. They're incredible for overall strength. Form is pretty easy tbh, just try and keep your back straight and your shoulders pinched back. Look it up on youtube if you need a refresher, but give'em a try again.

I haven't even tried to do a pull up yet. I just don't think I'm ready yet. Still working on building up since it's been years.
So it's lat pull downs and dumb bell rows for now.

I'll give em a shot.
Gotta realize I'm 6'4 or so. And with the back issues, I'd have to have perfect form or it's a wrap for me.

lol
I think Rule #1 at the gym is to never give anyone advice about what they should be doing.
So I don't say nothing. What works for everybody is different.
More power to you.

:patrice: :pachaha: shyt I'm 5'8" so they're easier for me I guess.

A lot of taller guys do rack pulls which are a really good substitute for deadlifts because they kind of eliminate the whole lift off the ground part

:manny: but yeah, even if it's light reps, it's still good for you if you're starting from scratch again
