:francis:Some coaches do be saying this bs smh
Those dudes be barely completing high school trying to give medical advice. When it comes to coaching you in a sport and the details if they are experts in it, listen to them. But if they start telling you what to do as far as ingesting stuff that helps you live like water, they can kick rocks.

If I had a kid who had a coach telling them not to drink water, that would be the last time they would have that coach. Not even about keeping them from grinding or experience hardship. That is one of those things they just say because they think every form of sadism is hardening someone when there is literally no advantages from keeping water from someone and in fact will make them perform worse. Doesn't make any sense.

The Truth
I used to think that working for my dad and Pawpaw out in that sweltering, Louisiana heat doing bullshyt… until one day I cramped up something serious after a night of drinking with my brothers.

Never again. I also seen a dude have a literal heat stroke when in the military. Military was BIG on staying hydrated for us. Sometimes they would force you to drink canteen after canteen as a punishment.

Anyway, when I was young I used to believe getting water while everyone was working was a sign of weakness.. even when playing sports.

Now, fukk that drink up.
