We'll see. I hope that all happens and I think Prince can be a double digit scorer/lock down defender, Däs can be an All Star level PG and hopefully Collins can make an impact. But this roster still lacks immediate impact players, if Sap leaves I don't see how you make up for that or build a future around guys who at best might just be role players. And we definitely don't have the same caliber of high ceiling guys that Philly, BOS & MIL have and that's if all our guys max out on their abilities. I don't see us with the same level of skilled players, we're gonna have to import guys in or get really, really bad to draft some guys at the top of the draft

Good point. I'm less worried about the future (3-4 yrs) than I am about now (present-2 yrs), the type of guys we acquire matters A LOT. Not only from a competitive standpoint, but also chemistry, maturity, and development. It looks like half of our roster will be 25 or under when the season starts. The impact of veteran presence who can actually play, not Elton Brand/Jason Collins type, will be big. I remember Josh Childress saying Tony Delk was trying to get him to drop some bread on a Dopp kit when he felt like the one he had was ok. It's little, but imagine stuff like that on a larger scale and what bad influences could do to a team.

Despite him being my 3rd or 4th all-time favorite Hawk I don't see how we bring Sap back on a non-contending team. Would he even come back for less than the max?

Of course the ATL
THJ will probably be back...

We'll see. I think THJR coming back is a 50/50 proposition. The Hawks were never going to allow THJR to become a UFA. That said it's obvious the Hawks want to keep THJR in the mix, I just know a combo of THJR & WOAT's contracts isn't something that Schlenk wants long term

We have some potential pieces. Just need one of Prince, Collins, or Schroedouche max their potential out completely and we'll have a star. I could see all 3 being allstars at some point. Bembry and Dorsey have intriguing skillsets and I could see them being the x-factors in the future. Hardaway Jr. needs to work on his defense, but if he can get his 18 a game then we'll be set 1-4. Just need to find a rim protecting 5 and we will be homecourt locks in 2-3 years, along with Philly, Boston, and Milwaukee. Our future as bright as anyone else in the east and until one of the above 3 reach their potential I feel we have as much of a shot as anyone to take over once LeBron is done.

You mean like we had in Howard? :ohhh:

That's like mentioning Dorsey as a 3pt specialist and you saying "You mean like we had in Korver? :ohhh:" Howard was not on the timeline of this team moving forward. Keeping him now would have stifled the transition into the "revitalization" we're going through. Don't act like you don't know this nikka :stopitslime:

Bruh how can you say that when Howard and Dennis only had 1 year to work with each other? It take more than 1 season for teammates to get used to each other. Im sure if Howard would have stayed 3 years that pick and roll with him and Dennis would be deadly as Dennis continues to get better. We bout to back to getting bullied in the paint like when Horford was here. You can still have success with a traditional big man. Look at ZaZa and Tristan

Dwight will keep declining during the next 3 years, so its not like he would grow and develop with dennis. He is 31 and his game relies on athleticism. He's not that skilled and he doesn't make up for it with effort or a motor like tristan.

You think we beating golden state if we keep him around or something? I don't get why you're so attached:gucci:

The only thing Dwight can do is dunk, rebound and occasionally block a shot. He cant guard the pick n roll because his foot speed aint shyt. He cant shoot, he half jogs up the court. The only time he really blocks shots is if someone is driving directly at him. Dude is cruising towards Bismack Biyombo territory.

Do you really think they are building a team to compete with Golden State? Nobody is beating them until they retire or till some of the players leave in free agency. Same with Cleveland. We actually fared way better against Cleveland this year with Dwight cause TT use to take Al's cookies every game.

We beat the cavs a couple times but we couldn't even beat the wizards in the playoffs:martin:

You might want to keep trotting out this same treadmill team, but I want a championship. :hubie:

The best thing we can do is rebuild, get younger talent, and set our sights on making a run in maybe 2-3 years when bron falls off. Dwight doesnt fit that timeline

Of course the ATL
So as @FreshFromATL posted the Hawks have sent a 4.8 million qualifying offer to THJR to keep him a restricted free agent, meaning the Hawks can match any offer he gets. So let me ask y'all, how high is Schlenk and the Hawks willing to go to keep THJR? If let's say THJR gets a $15 million dollar a deal year for 4-5 years do the Hawks match? What number is too high for y'all because let's keep it real, THJR is just a scorer. You're literally getting nothing else, no defense, no passing, etc. So with that being said what number do y'all think the Hawks should match?

I have no problem with 15 million annually, jr smith makes that much and THJR has more room to grow. I'm willing to go slightly higher if we can shed bazemores contract
