We'll see. I hope that all happens and I think Prince can be a double digit scorer/lock down defender, Däs can be an All Star level PG and hopefully Collins can make an impact. But this roster still lacks immediate impact players, if Sap leaves I don't see how you make up for that or build a future around guys who at best might just be role players. And we definitely don't have the same caliber of high ceiling guys that Philly, BOS & MIL have and that's if all our guys max out on their abilities. I don't see us with the same level of skilled players, we're gonna have to import guys in or get really, really bad to draft some guys at the top of the draft
Good point. I'm less worried about the future (3-4 yrs) than I am about now (present-2 yrs), the type of guys we acquire matters A LOT. Not only from a competitive standpoint, but also chemistry, maturity, and development. It looks like half of our roster will be 25 or under when the season starts. The impact of veteran presence who can actually play, not Elton Brand/Jason Collins type, will be big. I remember Josh Childress saying Tony Delk was trying to get him to drop some bread on a Dopp kit when he felt like the one he had was ok. It's little, but imagine stuff like that on a larger scale and what bad influences could do to a team.
Despite him being my 3rd or 4th all-time favorite Hawk I don't see how we bring Sap back on a non-contending team. Would he even come back for less than the max?
