I'm all for sunny side up optimism and although the article makes some reaches I do think the outcome could be great. I disagree with the "there won't be as many awful teams next yr". BK will be horrible, possibly the Knicks, ORL, PHX, SAC just to name a few. But I am hopeful that this rebuild will ultimately get us on the path to a championship
I think we finish in the 8-14 part of the lottery I doubt bud has this team not competing. He's not about to be the scapegoat here

Of course the ATL
@AVXL Another opinion on our situation

Respect to Zach Lowe & his opinion. I still don't see how anybody can sit back and tell me the Hawks have been a well run basketball organization when you look at the moves they've made over the past couple years. Yes part of it is shifting ideology but a big part of it is lack of vision and failed strategy. Hopefully Schlenk executes on his plan, but in the meantime we're stuck with awful basketball for at least a year

Right. Bud is gonna have these guys battling because that's all he knows, i don't see him enjoying coaching a team that has little shot of making the playoffs but I think he'll max out the effort of this team

It's funny you say scapegoat b/c I think Bud will get a pass no matter what happens this yr, but you know he's not happy with what's going on.

More than anything I found the Jamychal Green suggestion interesting. I know we'll need a stopgap guy at the 4 until Collins is ready, but I never thought of him as an option. He brings a similar skillset to Millsap, just less perimeter oriented. He can stretch the floor, but like they said Memphis will probably match any offer

I'd assume we'd waive Crawford

Y'all wouldn't wanna watch Crawford as the leading scorer? If we goin to tank at least let us enjoy watching.

Clippers doing this just for cap reasons? WHy not just sign him outright?
They need to clear some space to make room for gallinari. Denver could potentially need to clear cap room to make space for George hill so we may take another contract like will barton
