Outside of maybe two movies Jamie Foxx isn't even the best actor in his own movies.
Will Smith > Jamie Foxx by a mile.
I voted Jamie but I can't put my finger on why...
I wanna say he's more "versatile", but what I think I mean is if I picture him playing everything from menacing villain to good guy in wrong/bad situation, I'd believe either more than I'd believe Will.
"One-trick pony" is usually used as a pejorative.Wasn’t an insult.
Actors who can play themselves like that in numerous roles tend to stand out and make memorable characters. It’s “acting naturally” while putting a personal and familiar twist on characters that tend to leave imprints on people. People still quoting Will Smith in Men In Black, Denzel in Training Day and Tom Cruise in Top Gun while directly associating their real life with those characters. If that’s not the definition of convincing, I don’t know what is.
thisWill is the better all around actor. Jaime is much better inside his comfort zone. Playing characters like ray Charles has been an extension of his comedy act impersonations and is natural for him. But jaime struggles in serious roles outside of that.
All of this.Jamie Foxx is the better actor without question.
With Will Smith no matter what role he is playing it always comes across as "Will Smith acting" while Jamie can become a character.
Just take the two high profile real people they played: Muhammad Ali and Ray Charles.
In Ali we had Will Smith doing an Ali impression.
In Ray we got Jamie Foxx becoming Ray Charles.
Hell, Jamie out acted Will in the Ali movie. His performance as Bundini Brown was miles better than what Will did as Ali.
Jaime is probably technically the better actor, but Will is the better movie star. Even if Will is in a bad movie he is still charismatic and makes the movie watchable. If Jaime is in a bad movie it's just bad.
Foxxx is better drama, Will Smith is better action.

He turned down the role of Django because he felt Django wasn’t really the lead.Damn...ima have to say Jamie as far as just acting. But as far as legacy, I might have to side w/ Will. Tho, I'll say this. If Will had done the Matrix, provided that all factors (impact on movies, pop culture, not a comedy action movie, popularity) stayed the same, he would have won by a landslide. I feel that was the ONE flaw in his career.
what does this even mean. matrix, django, will, leo, none of these have correlation. He turned down the lead because he felt Django wasn’t really the lead.
I just think he was scared to share screen time with Leo. Will Smith rightfully has an ego.
Django in Django Unchained is another role he turned down. Will Smith said he felt Django wasn’t the lead character of the movie. I believe he was scared to share the screen with Leonardo DiCaprio. However, Will Smith earned the right to have an ego.what does this even mean. matrix, django, will, leo, none of these have correlation.
Ah ok I see. I didn't know he was booked for Django. When did he ever indicate he was scared? How do you know it wasn't due to scheduling with another movie?Django in Django Unchained is another role he turned down. Will Smith said he felt Django wasn’t the lead character of the movie.
