I remember when the Slap happen people were like "It's over Bad Boys 4 isn't going to come out". I laughed at that saying it was lies, here we are 2 years later and another Blockbuster "Bad Boys" is burning up the box office. Will Smith is back where he belongs, a #1 Summer Blockbuster. "Independence Day" and "Men In Black" may be bigger. But "Bad Boys" is the film that really got Will's Superstar Movie Career rolling. Low-Key, Martin's Movie career exploded too after that film though he was in movies before. Michael Bay the director career blew up after too and that was his 1st movie. "Bad Boys" has never flopped. It was a hit in the 90's, it was a hit in the 2000's, it was the biggest movie in the US in 2020 before the Pandemic. Now it's here to jumpstart the Summer Box Office after a few big flops.
"Furiosa" flopped because though "Fury Road" was a good movie, Furiosa character wasn't that big enough to do a spin off about. Plus they didn't bring Charlize Theron back and did a prequel. If it was a "Mad Max Fury Road" Sequel instead it may have done better. "Fall Guy" was iffy because TV Shows to Movies can be hit or miss. Everything can't be "Mission Impossible" as far as a TV Show being a successful film. "Planet of the Apes" and "Garfield" are both doing pretty good. You aren't seeing these Mega Numbers because movie going audiences habits have changed in the last 4 years since the Pandemic. But this was the perfect comeback film for Will. It sad "Emancipation" went straight to streaming because of the drama. I knew he would be fine but so many think pieces were saying "Audiences will reject Will Smith". Yeah Ok, One of the Biggest Stars in the last 30 years. The movie was fire too.
