What's being suggested is since things are worst than they need be. Things were deservedly bad then. You had legitimate psychopaths walking around. They didn't need a soundtrack to put the battery in their back.

People now aren't living in that squalor so our crime should be way down.

This isn't really and old head vs. young head issue tho. The stats are right there to back up the claim that homicides decreased as popularity in hip hop increased. With that said a lot of shyt was better back in the day except for the weed

Becauae quiet as kept the plight of black Americans has been steadily improving since the mid 90s. Poverty more then anything else breeds violence in all aspects human life and culture. As we continue to improve our livelihoods violence will continue to see a downward trend.

Its never as bad as the media tells you it is. We as a people need to acknwoledge this and stop puttinf ourselves and our people down. Plenty are for upward mobility but we the few in minority who are be the face of our entire race...and worse yet we let them tell us that they are...

But the 70s and even the 80s pre crack were way more violent than today, nikkas didnt even have choppas bacc den. You got cities catching 900+ bodies just off nikkas with revolvers and baseball bats :damn:

Detroit homicides in the 70s:

Chicago homicides in the 70s:

:scust:

Theres more but im lazy
Detroit and Chicago are only 2 cities though where are the stats for black on black crime on a national level from the 70s and eras there after?:comeon: furthermore the 70s is the decade which birthed the culture of modern thug culture(including gangsta rap) which pervades the black community today...while gangsta rap hadn't emerged yet the same glorification of of ignorance and criminality so prevalent gangsta rap was still promoted to blacks though more so via blaxploitation films(such as" The Mack," Black Ceaser, " "Black Godfather,"etc) which promoted thugs whom preyed on their own community as heros:scust:in addition to pumping dope into the hood the CIA simply took the formula it created with the pro black thug lord blaxploitation films and used gangsta rap to further spread their message of black on black self destruction and self hate as well as reinforcing negative stereotype of black savages to the masses.

Playing Devil's advocate,

You literally have X rapper saying "When we see these nikkas we're gonna do XYZ" and then going out and doing it.

Back in the day, the high amount of violence was exclusively based on Gangs, Poverty Drugs and no other extenuating factors whatsoever. At all. There were no gang diss tracks, there were no sub genres EXCLUSIVELY dedicated to gang violence(Drill Music).

When you put together the fact that Heroin usage is down, Cocaine usage is down, poverty(while still bad) is down, than what sole factor are we left with that keeps the violence going in these communities? What would even be the reason to go in front of a camera and pick up a gun and proclaim you're gonna kill someone?

What communities are the most violent though? If you look at the political landscape..the job scene...the educational funding..its not hard to put 2 and 2 together.

Breh avg household income in Chicagos worst hoods is below $20,000. Englewoods for instance is $11,993. That is not even low class it's underclass. Just look at the conditions of the highest murder rate cities in the US, (these are all in the Midwest btw)

1) being poor does not excuse the savage depraved epidemic of black on black genocide waged by the street gangs in that city whom sure judging by their latest fashions and vehicles are eating very well off the drug trade/not exactly starving:comeon:

2)adding to my last point one of Chicago's most notorious/violent gang infested neighborhoods(Englewood) looks comfortably middle class

where i'm from homes like that are only in cac or mixed neighborhoods for the past

3)clearly the warfare in many black communities of Chicago and throughout the US are far more rooted in cultural failures than economic related

This post was so damn ignorant:merchant:. Englewoods poverty rate is at or above 50% and you're excusing that because the houses look good:skip:. You sound stupid as shyt.

Breh the same thing going on in some black inner city communities is going on in hella other poverty ridden inner city communities with access to guns all over the world (Rio de Janeiro, Caracas, San Pedro Sula, Cape Town) . Culture is a factor yes, but all those cities mentioned have vastly different cultures but they have the same circumstances

Those nikkas have nice clothes but they very often can't even pay for their own funerals. I wonder why:beli:

A lot of lead in water made dudes super violent. On top of dudes being forced to fight often, and extreme poverty and even unspoken corruption made dudes go "fukk the world!" :pacspit:
