lead in gas was a huge factor in violent crimes back in the 70s all the way through the early 90s. look it up once they took lead out of gas and people weren't breathing in trace amounts of lead all day everyday crime rates plummeted.

Great depression/prohibition made crime big business, then you turned around and took a huge portion of adult age men and spit them out the nam war machine. So now you got combat trained young men, who are broke and were raised in violence, turn around and have their own broken children
