Check this 1997 BET Rap City skit where they have the 4 regions of the country (East Coast, West Cost, Midwest &Down South) meet "The Godfather." Peep the stereotypes of each region.

nice....this clip backs up something I was talking about in another thread the other day about southern bounce being a feeling

If anyone knew history, they would know black neighborhoods in chicago ain't nothing but Mississippi and Alabama colonies, considering this is where the vast majority of our grandparents who came here are from.

Crucial conflict was just finding they own niche, the same way bone thugs was doing the devil worship shyt, and Twista and do or die going the pimp route.

What's wrong with finding your own lane and style?!

For the record, the final tic album was a chicago classic

Desperado :banderas:

shyt just ain't the same no mo :wow:

They made good music.

Was gonna say this.. Mississippi is strong in the Chi.. know this from Emmit Till story

. You're the first person I ever heard of saying West Coast rappers have Southern accents, which wouldn't make us well....West Coast.

You’re a bit out of touch with the streets/hip hop scene my friend. Personally, I (and countless others) have said the same thing about west coast rappers/Blacks my entire life, so, make that two people now that you’ve “heard” say it smh :snoop:

300 murders a year
During the industrial revolution where steel mills railroads, automobile factories etc were being erected in the north, the business owners were using the railroads to send messages down south using the newspapers that it was work and opportunities up north, they did so because they could pay the negros 1/3 of what they paid white labor workers. And they could cheat them on benefits, and with the negros you didn't have to deal with the unions. So this is how so many of our grandparents begin to make their way up north as many of us were labor workers. Add in the shyt the klan, rifle clubs, militias , etc where doing to negros in the south and this persuaded us heavily to make the move up north. Explains why so many of our people come from down south.

Listen to R. Kelly talk on this intro to hear a natural deep South accent.

Chief Keef sounds like he's from the South, especially when he was talkative with Snoop.

Drill aint nothing but Chicago Southern Music. I like to say I helped create drill because the rapper credited as the inventer of it used to chill in our room when we went to college together and we put em up on all that Memphis music.

Most HBCUs are gonna have a big student body portion fromnChicago/Detroit/Milwaukee .

Im fully aware. Aframs everywhere outside the south have audible southern tinges with the exception of North Eastern Aframs because they came from areas with lighter drawls, that then faded away in more recent generations
