Midwest and Southwest are extremely similar. Texas for example is considered "out West." Both areas are agriculture based, have horses, slower drawls, ect. Plus, Illinois was a slave state and along the Mississippi.


Crucial Conflict's whole "gimmick" was similar to Wu-Tang and Shaolin, only their gimmick was based on actual geography and native culture and amped up.

The "countriest" non-South cities are probably Chicago and the Oakland/Bay Area.

It's no mistake that rappers from Chicago like Crucial Conflict did features with Three 6 Mafia.

And there is a direct gang culture link between Chicago & places like Mississippi & Memphis. I've probably said this already in the thread but A lot black people from chicago are really from the south though.
I'm talking about younger people too, not just old folks that came during the great migration.
I went to school with kids that were born in Mississippi, Louisiana, SC, Arkansas, etc. Or were back and fourth. I turn 27 in a month btw. Some of the south suburbs almost feel like they could be in the south.

The blac population of Chicago is made up of folk that came up from Alabama, Arkansas and Mississippi in the 30s, 40s and 50s. A lot of cats on the west and south side still have a lot of fam down South and prob spend time down South
