I mean they could always just buy another console, and if Xbox goes away I’m sure somebody else will come along, google dropped the ball but somebody else will figure it outThe choice is being made for them, thats why

And it sales reflected it. You can only make things as expensive as people are willing to pay.
Also, fear mongering within itself is stupid because no one here has the power to change Xbox’s fate in the gaming industry. No one is going to go sit down and think bout the reasons they have for not buying and/or supporting xbox because of this
Yeah tell that to apple, when you dominate the market you can play reckless like that.
Let's not act like the only reason they didn't just ride out the price point is because Xbox 360 was an alternative.
If it was only PlayStation you'd definitely see stupid Apple price points on gaming.
The only fear mongering is coming from yall. I've never seen a group of folks that don't care about a product consistently theory craft, talk, read up and discuss it like Sony Stan's

Ps plus went up trying to compete with gamepass which is still 50 dollars more expensive

The industry definitely faces a challenge with live service monetization, subscription services and ballooning budgets for AAA games...
That said, game consoles are going NOWHERE. The traditional model of how games are released and delivered is definitely changing
