1. Some of you guys don't consider yourselves Black and so its not deemed "self-hating." Again keyword, "some."

2. You guys don't have a big influence in the West compared to Jamaicans, Nigerians or Ghanaians.

It even makes sense rationally speaking: there's a large, and growing, middle-class in West Africa which drives the demand for these types of products. These products are also marketed more in West Africa. It's, overall, a wealthier region.

MILLIONS of black women wear horse hair on their head to emulate the appearance of white hair. Skin lightening was just the natural evolution of that self hatred. Add to to that this surging movement of wenches who know they aren't white, but will gladly spread their legs for a white boy to plant his seed in them and allow them to birth a half-white child through which they can vicariously experience the sick joy of having white blood.

Again. I am not the biggest fan of weave - but it's a hair style option. It does not equate self-hate. I have a weave in right now - but I'm natural and my hair is what most would consider long. I have it in cause I wanted a certain style and didn't want to straighten or add heat to my natural hair to get the style. It will be out in a few weeks and i'm back natural. That's why most BW are doing. It's not to emulate white women.

Many BW have natural hair or wear their own hair and use weave as a styling option. It's real and true - whether you believe it or not.

Skin whitening is on some who other ish. And to be real - ALL women - not only Black women wear weave.

Also, please start asking why some of these women are wearing weave -- it has A LOT to do with what men find attractive and what's mainstream attractive in our communities.

They have an entire beauty treatment store dedicated to this near where I live on seven sisters road. I see many sisters going in from all over but is predominantly an Eritrean, Somali and Ethiopian store. They do chemical peels, sell potions and ointments anything to do with the epidermis but I don’t think they are clinically certified.

I am not pointing any fingers though I have family from Africa and The Windies that bleach but definitely they are outnumbered by the women in my family who do not.

No one in my family bleaches or has ever bleached.

The store is probably either owned by an East African or you live in an area with many EA's. It's not as common as you are making it. It happens, but it's nowhere near West African levels
