I use to get constant calls from recruiters and weekly interviews from 2020 to 2022.

We low key in a recession and once Trump get into office we legit might face the possibility of a depression. :francis:
Both parties are in favor of trickle down Economics for the poor and middle class.

Once Obama bailed out Wall Street that was the beginning of the end. Everything has gone downhill since then.

They dont want you.....they want some one with a wealth of experience that is desperate to stoop low in a time of desperation to accept that job at that entry level wage and will allow the people that are still on board to suffer with excess workload until they can't hold out anymore

There is too much naivety around here.

It is a way of practicing nepotism and racism. Think about the people who have been hired into entry level positions and ask yourself if they really had the experience asked for on paper.

Whenever I hire people at work (accounting) I always hire people out of college or with no/minimal experience looking to get their foot in the door. I’ve been there before so that’s my way of giving back. Quite a few people I’ve hired left after a few years to take senior positions in their mid 20s elsewhere and it geniunly makes me proud. fukk these :old: geezers not giving young people a chance.

Because it's the nature of your industry. If there are opportunities to gain experience in your field before you get a full time job, even if it is for free, than those candidates who did that will be more competitive than those that didn't.

Might as well just save the time and make it known from jump that theyre not bothering with anyone who has never done an internship, assistant position, volunteer work, temp job. Whatever. And having experience in the field is more important to employers than your psychology degree.

A college degree is not enough in this age. I tell young fellas all the time you HAVE to intern, or find some type of "work" in your field before you get the full time job. In fact the internship can turn into a job. But you gotta do it or you're simply less competitive in the resume pool.

You need to show some initiative. Maybe volunteer someplace, offering your computer skills. Or build a home networking lab or even a virtual one that you can put on your resume. You can also try to get a job doing tech support for an isp or something for a few months, then apply for some helpdesk jobs.

Their assumption is you have internships or volunteer experience you can cite.

Along with the fact that they do not want to pay for training. I'd take things further and say that it's also a test of how well you can lie. Lying will be part of the job and if you're skilled enough to deceive them then you can deceive clients/customers.
That lying shyt is real.

I had an interview when I was younger and the interviewer was trying to goad me along and put words in my mouth. I corrected her and was completely honest. I got the job and she said “yea I was trying to help you with your answers. If you had gone along with it I could’ve offered you more. 🤣

Knowing how to BS is a life skill. They won’t tell you that, but it’s true.

They just want to track you op , no different from them asking for your race , if you've been convicted of a crime, if you've been fired from a job
