When Quik first came out he had Detroit on LOCK. I came home on leave and all the cars, club and street were banging was Quik is the Name. He had a good runnot everybody has to have a Dr Dre type career to be labeled a success

You mention Quik havin Detroit on lock. I always look back and think how it was so dope how music used to "spread" to other areas and what cities was bumpin what. Bruh, ya boi Breed even tho he from Flint had the entire STATE jammin with this shyt the same year. Radio still play this cut till this day on any throwback mix, shyt was/is a rap staple out here in Cali..

Oh yeah I got it and dig it cause it's Tha Quiksta doin his thing, but just not as much as his earlier stuff...I love the intro where they ask him what hip hop needs and he tells the kids it needs a banjo

His style is far from Traditional West coast gangster rap. But he did have his run. Alot of West Coast came saw conquered and left.
Quik is on my very short list of artists I buy projects from without wanting or needing to hear first. It'll be that way until he stops making music
