It was just on display last week when he was going off on Twitter about YG and not getting paid for work, he was going to sue, then ended up saying 'oh I shouldn't drink while tweeting and MY BAD YG ANSWER MY DMs'

I'd be surprised if YG and Quik worked together in the future...

I love Quiks production. While every producer was just recycling "Parliement/Funkadelic/George Clinton beats" He was the antithesis of that. He would flip con funk shun, cameo, slave, chocolate milk ect.. beats and he layered them very well. I always liked his beats to Dre heavy baseline beats. The only Dre beat I like is "little Ghetto Boy."

2nd ii none gets dropped..signed with death row..quik is on probation again..and suspended...

soon as quik shook profile..he started gettin work..shaq, tony toni tone, whitney...then clive davis reached out..

el debarge gets fresh out of jail n rehab..he was quiks project...quiks revives his career....

el is on it...2001,,he fell back to his old ways...due to the nikkas he was around..quik and el has music together..aint no way in hell they were together for 6 yrs and didnt put nothing together..

pretty sure arista and interscope shelved it..

You know he never really tried to be bigger than he was. He just happened to have a relationship with a lot of big names on the Westcoast but he never wanted to be a big name. He just wanted to make music, his way, on his own. He always kept his best beats for himself.

The way I know that is he basically gave Jay-z a regular ass beat when he really could have gone over the top which would have got him way more attention, since at the time, that would have been his biggest placement post Pac. At that point Jay-z was the most popular rapper....or at least arguably.

shyt bro I came to NC from the Bay Area as a kid in '93... And when I'd be bussin Spice, Jayo, 40, Ehit or Quik nikkas in Fayette Nam would look at me crazy like "That shyt wack..we don't fukk with that off brand junk" smdh

Then what the hell were they listening to then cause the only people from the south making noise at that point was Rapalot and Suave house and both of them were STRONGLY influenced by the West Coast

Once upon a time Dj Quik was the muthafukkin man out here in Cali....From the Bay to LA and beyond. I witnessed Quik Is The Name go from being a hot "underground" tape that we all had dubbed getting passed around the hood to an album that muthafukkaz was lining up to copp and askin for at every record store. Tonite was blastin outta every whip out here in 91'. Radio wore the shyt out of that and Born N Raised, major video play also, blew up The Box. Same thing with Jus Lyke CPT off the sophmore album.

When Quik first came out he had Detroit on LOCK. I came home on leave and all the cars, club and street were banging was Quik is the Name. He had a good run not everybody has to have a Dr Dre type career to be labeled a success

dre career has always been west coast..

quik career was directed by new york....hence why eazy tried to sign em..he knew the potential in quik...he had the undergrounds..he been to the parties he know whats gettin bought in the swap meet etc..

them new york nikkas caught a buzz..n did quik..like they did texas durin the swishahouse run..
