Why isn't Big K.R.I.T. mentioned with Kendrick, Cole, and Drake of this era?

He realized he wasn't going to pop off mainstream wise way too late. He had been straddling the fence for so long that by the time he returned to strictly underground again the game had somewhat left him behind. I say this as somebody who had KRIT as my favorite (not best) of that group of 08-10 artists.

If he would have continued on the underground side like Spitta, he would have been fine. Now he's 10000% cold and may never regain that momentum. As a fan though, I still rock with him and his drops, however sparse they are. He will always have my support since he gave his fans a decade of GREAT music and is cemented regardless of if he ever picks up the mic again.

Dude has a stronger discography than Cole. Cole from the south too.

I honestly think its cause he didnt get a cosign of the magnitude those other three did.

Like imagine dudes like Big Sean and Jcole without they cosigns.

You really tellin me these nikkas making better music than Krit? :comeon:
This

But watch how cosigns and hits stop mattering when they wanna put nikkas like king Los over kendrick

But but but Krit don't belong in the conversation :skip:

It’s not an insult. He’s an underground king. He isn’t a mainstream dude. If u know me u would know I think VERY highly of Curren$y and feel he’s one of the 2 most important rappers in the underground scene for the 2010s.
What that got to do with bars?

I thought this was supposed to be about who rap the best. Not a damn popularity contest :skip:

He literally has zero hits and has zero features with relevant artists. He also got co-signed by the likes of Bun B, while Kendrick and Cole got co-signed by universally loved mentors like Dr. Dre and Jay-Z

I used to be a huge fan of K.R.I.T. and mentioned him to people every chance I got. Now I don’t mention him at all because everyone just says “Big WHO??? What hit song does he sing??” :dahell:

And of course, the nikka ain’t got hits. I can’t pull out my phone and play Mt Olympus for everyone:yeshrug:

What are u talking about? I’m not speaking on popularity I’m speaking on status and as far as status he doesn’t match with the rappers mentioned. U literally one of the only people who came in here to disagree with me. Who the fukk said this was just about bars? And Curren$y can rap his ass off.

You said he wasn't mainstream but an underground king yet you're not speaking on popularity :mjlol:

And of course curren$y can rap. He's one of the greatest. Both of them are better than drake and Cole from a bars standpoint as well as music. The only edge is popularity which translates into more recognized hits :yeshrug:

His music changed too much for me once he got signed..

It's like he played into the southern sound too much, almost sounding forced.. he never topped Krit Wuz Here.. I put that project over any Cole album outside of Friday Night Lights because I never heard it

Son the question of the thread was if he was on those rappers level. The answer is no for the reasons I listed. What are u talking about? It seems like u missed the point of the thread entirely. He’s in the Curren$y tier of rappers. Underground Kings.
