sometimes i think about what it musta been like in the 90s :wow:

no internet, none of this bullshyt. just hoping to catch a verse on the radio or grab a fukkin tape or cd when biggie, prodiy, nas, jay, all that shyt was comin out :wow:

now its like this young thug shyt is on youtube leme pull it up in two seconds :dead::beli:

and there was MAD pressure to make a good impression with such limited opportunities.

fukk being born in the 90s man, I wish I lived through those times.

Technically I was 3 years old when The Infamous came out

The story behind this is that Hav made the beat, and Hav, P and Noyd were in the studio. P gets to penning one of the three classic verses on that song. Hav and Noyd leave to go to a club. P tries to convince them to stay and work on the song. They left. P just kept writing and by the time they got back, it was a P solo track. It got leaked and the initial reaction to the song was so strong they decided to turn it to a Mobb song and threw Hav on the hook.

I think P was recording HNIC around that time as well..

If that woulda found its way on the album...:noah:

im a Jay stan. Jay has nothing to do with anything Prodigy at all. P was thought of more in 95', when my niqqa jay was labeled a sidekick

thats cool. You dont have to agree... my point was that prodigy being sampled on reasonable doubt (an arguable top 5 rap album ever) helped shaped the perception of p's overall career.
Op asks why he's more "celebrated than havoc" and I think that's part of the reason.

Insignificant posting from an insignificant poster
Wait, what?! I personally love Murda Muzik, but how have you not heard their other albums? That's blasphemy. At least Infamous & Hell On Earth, certified classics.

And even P's 1st solo joint is a classic. You buggin. That's your homework for next week, son  lol

Yeah.. Thats like getting into redman after Malpractice. Lol

Murda Muzik was when i 1st got into Mobb Deep. Havent really heard much before that album
That might be a big reason why. By the time their album after Murda Muzik came out you could argue that Havoc was rapping better than Prodigy was.

If you listen to some songs with both Hav and P on them when they were in their musical prime and listen to the differences in verses, hopefully you can tell. Just check a few of these out.

Prodigy has the first and 3rd verses. The 3rd verse he totally blacks out.

Prodigy has the 2nd verse on here and it really showcases what made him so special
