I havent heard their full catalog but from what ive heard, Havoc more than holds down his own lyrically. Matter fact, he's outshined Prodigy on many occasions but it seems like Havoc is an afterthought while P is the one celebrated. Whats up whth this?

cant really put it in words

Thing is Havoc sounded like your typical dope rapper over boom bap beats. He doesn't get his dues for his lyrical prowess, but ultimately he's like a Prince Po to Prodigy's Pharoahe Monch.

Prodigy is not only lyrically and technically superior, but he sounds like a grimy, no money having motherfukker that will just slit your throat after convincing you to give him a minute of your time.

It's really indescribable how dope he was in the 90's Mobb Deep run starting from The Infamous. Havoc was an excellent complementary piece, and of course produced some of the greatest music ever. To this day, I maintain that Havoc has the dopest drums in hip-hop. Some of the shyt on Hell on Earth was mind-blowing.

So I actually think they deserve equal credit all things considered, coz they mix like vodka and milk :troll:

BUT, rapping-wise, Prodigy is just way better in all facets.

i mean theres a reason why they were like

"nah havs just gonna do the hook on this' :heh:

The story behind this is that Hav made the beat, and Hav, P and Noyd were in the studio. P gets to penning one of the three classic verses on that song. Hav and Noyd leave to go to a club. P tries to convince them to stay and work on the song. They left. P just kept writing and by the time they got back, it was a P solo track. It got leaked and the initial reaction to the song was so strong they decided to turn it to a Mobb song and threw Hav on the hook.
