In what way?
A nation full of hard working geniuses looks like South Korea, not Nigeria.
In what way?
Yes it true@BmoreGorilla
Is this true .. Did they really delete that thread you made calling out white posters pretending to be black?

I only said that many Nigerians put a lot of emphasis on education
Many in any ethnic group do, whats your point?
What's your point? You're the one who questioned me saying that in the first place.
So @IllmaticDelta point about selection is correct.
It may be correct in an Indian context but not in a Nigerian one, hence he wasn't able to back up his claims with any evidence and/or a logical argument. I've already stated that Nigerians abroad come from varied backgrounds, rich, poor, well-educated and not so well-educated but most tend to have a deep respect for education. I know that many other cultures share this sentiment- I didn't say otherwise. I'm not denigrating any other cultures, I'm just saying that those Nigerians who do well in academia deserve the praise that they receive. They don't deserve to have people, especially other black people, downplay their achievements by suggesting that they have been predisposed to be successful because they come from some type of privileged background. Personally, when I see another black person do well in life, particularly in academics, I feel nothing but pride for them because I know the restrictions that we all have placed on us; I don't immediately start to think up excuses as to why they're doing so well.

Its not an excuse nor taking away to say selection and small population skews achievement especially if you want to compare to a bigger group like AAs.
So, this is the crux behind your arguments. If that is indeed the case then I don't know why you're arguing with me because I didn't say anything about Nigerians being superior to African Americans or whoever. I actually agree with the premise that you can't compare newly immigrant black groups to African Americans in America without using heavily biased statistics. This still doesn't detract from the academic successes of many Nigerians abroad. Anyway, I know that you're arguing just for argument's sake so I'll just leave it here. Have a good evening (or afternoon if you're in America, I suppose).
I understand your argument and my parents came to this country with barely $200 and my mom sewed most of our clothes during elementary school, so this whole Nigerians who came here were privileged argument is false. Most of the ones who were went to London not America, and if they were truly privileged they stayed in Nigeria where you can triple your income overnight whether it be corrupt money or inheritance.
Your arguing with someone who is firm in his belief only can respect that he is consistent with it.
