What Im saying is that reggae is a Jamaican interpretation of Soul music which is why so much early Reggae is Soul music covers whereas Dancehall is more it's own thing musically w/ influences from Afram verbal traditions but not musical traditions.

but back to your point.. Hip hop was more or less invented/founded by DJ Kool Herc. DJ Kool Herc was born in Jamaica and is not an African-American per the definition used in this thread. So in essence, hip hop was invented by a Jamaican. Do you agree with this or no? If not, why?

BTW, Kool Herc invented using breakbeats has his style, that is it. It's still a big contribution, but you don't ignore everyone else who came before him. And you don't say because he came form Jamaica that means hip hop came from Jamaica. He was a kid in Jamaica, so he couldn't get into the jams.

I hate repeating this because it sounds like I'm beefing with Jamaicans, but I don't understand why people don't except the truth by now. Are people that weak minded that they need to except a lie, instead of the truth, to feel good about themselves?

No, not just. But do some research into the history of ska, the incredibly strong influence of the Motown style, for example, is very clear.

The musical styles of the homeland and the diaspora are all intertwined and interrelated
