Kobe's considered a great shooter because he is getting his shot off even with 2-3 guys draped all over him, even with the defense being played perfectly against him Steph not surving in the NBA without illegal screens, I'm not sure what the percentage is but I would venture at least half his shots are behind an illegal double screen with him getting OPEN. That would have gotten called every time in the 90s. Steph's OPEN is a clear view of the rim coming off a screen or an illegal screen. Kobe's OPEN is the ball in his hands with a single defender on him. That's the big difference. A lot of today's stars exist because basic sh*t like illegal screens, traveling, etc aren't being called anymore along with touch fouls/phantom fouls to be at an alltime high to allow the NBA scores to still stay high. It's easy to see in these threads who actually watches the NBA and who just pulls stats off a random website.

Paul Pierce and Ray Allen put up great numbers from 3, in volume and efficiency, in the same era that Kobe was below average so why we acting like there weren't efficient shooters from 3 with versatile offensive skill sets?

To put things into perspective Ray Allen only shot 37% percent for his career. Kobe faced way harsher double/triple teams his entire career. And again those last three post Achilles years lowered his percentage.

Ray Alllen was a 40% career 3pt shooter on much higher volume.

1. his team was trailing
2. he took shots when he was being doubleteamed, trippleteamed
3. he was willing to take shots nobody else was willing to take
