Stans regularly argued that Kobe was a good, if not great, 3 point shooter. He was called "Jordan with more range", they said he forced doubleteams on the three point line, they pointed to his former shared record with Donyell Marshall, etc.

The common excuses:

He was double and triple teamed all the time and no other shooters faced that.

Heavily exaggerated. He would see extra defenders on last second shots and when he had dribbled the ball down to the end of the shot clock and defenders could afford to cheat but it was rarely, if ever, the game plan. He took most of those threes wide open in transition or in ISO situations with a single defender on him.

He didn't care about percentage so he took buzzer shots that other players wouldn't take

Absolutely false. If it was a tie game with two seconds left in the third and his team was inbounding, he would be downcourt with his back to the play so someone else could take that shot. He always took the last second shots in the fourth because he was a glory hog but he was not throwing up heaves for the fukk of it during games and even then, there wasn't enough of those to make a material difference in his percentage.

He had horrible shot selection
Well, yes, but he doesn't deserve extra credit for that.

his point was that while kobe could be a good shooter from beyond the arc, sometimes he would just throw up shots because either

1. his team was trailing
2. he took shots when he was being doubleteamed, trippleteamed
3. he was willing to take shots nobody else was willing to take

bottom line is he didn't play like a bytch who puts his stats before his team
Actually what you described is a player putting his stats before his team.

Exactly :mjlol::mjlol::mjlol:

See the thing is, most Bron fans dont live in Cleveland or Miami, so they never, not ONCE, have watched Bron play for a whole season. Whereas us Laker fans watched Kobe played 82 + playoffs for his whole career. These nikkas live purely off stats because they've only actually watched 1/3 of the games their idol has played
nikka stop, I watch a lot of Jordan, Bron and Kobe. They were all ok 3 point shooters. None way ahead of the other.

Kobe was rarely wide open. And was routinely doubled in his prime. Not sure why you are lying. And it’s obvious he didn’t care for percentages. He was known for bailing out the lakers in his prime. KNOWN for it. Like you are legit lying man, give it up.

all I said was 33% was "not bad" and then I clarified and said it was below average and you out here typing up rants

Newsflash, Bron isn't on the Heat anymore. You can take his cock out of your mouth and tone down the obsessive Kobe hate. I know its hard for you to believe but sometimes when Kobe shot a basketball, it actually went in the basket. Thats why he has 5 titles and is the 3rd leading scorer ever.

Imagine shooting 33% from 3 and having someone gargle your nuts about it :mjlol:

Lebron is the leading playoff scorer, has more playoff game winners than Kobe and Jordan, and has more rings as the number one guy on his team but you keep using Pippen rings :mjlol:

KOBE WAS A GREAT SHOOTER, HE JUST TOOK AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF DIFFUCULT THREES .... AND ONCE HE TORE HIS ACHILLES, HE FELL WAY OFF, SO THE OVERALL PERCENTAGE IS SKEWED, HE WAS ALWAYS AROUND 35%-37% DURING HIS PRIME YEARS, WHICH IS EXCELLENT CONSIDERING HOW HE WAS DEFENDED (DOUBLE AND TRIPLED ON THE PERIMETER) AND THE LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY ON HIS SHOT ATTEMPTS

THERES A REASON HE HELD THE RECORD FOR MOST MADE THREES IN A GAME BEFORE CURRY BROKE IT

LEBRON IS NOWHERE NEAR KOBE AS A SHOOTER, HE SIMPLY ISNT DEFENDED FOR THE THREE LIKE KOBE WAS

To put things into perspective Ray Allen only shot 37% percent for his career. Kobe faced way harsher double/triple teams his entire career. And again those last three post Achilles years lowered his percentage.
Ray Allen Shot 40% from 3 for his career :snoop:
