why is everyone in The Booth trapped in the early-to-mid 2000s?

Like this
There is a glut of hip-hop artists producing good music in this day and age, but all they can quote is whatever is spinning on their local radio station :dame:
The same posters also jump between 90s Supremacy, and in a Joey Badass thread complain about his music being "too boom bap." :gucci:
He made a thread and I responded accordingly.
:yeshrug:

I never been the booth poster that shyts on something just becuz it's new. I've been on record saying I fukks with Migos and I give Young Thug props for his flow and delivery. I'm also a Kendrick fan. That being said I feel like hip hops peak came was the late 90s but it's not like my love for the music stopped. I used to rap and not just for a hobby I have recorded music from the early to mid 2000s. I'm a Jeezy and Yo Gotti fan. Ross is in my personal top 5. I'm not really into a lot coming out recently with these younger rappers but I don't dismiss without listening first. Most of these young nikkas are just kids to me

Hiphop has become extremely stagnant thanks to the influx of vapid, homogenized, and uninspired music now. This is why you are going to see alot of 19-26 yr olds "coming into the fold" so to speak and having newfound interest and the older generations of rappers. Just because there's 5-7 rappers out right now thats hot doesnt mean the genre is thriving, even if they are the antithesis of mumble rap, their usually not much better. People are digging in the crates, but it still not yielding the results we expect. This generation just sucks, and im trying to be as objective as I can. There's hope, but there seems to be an ctive agenda to keep any groundbreaking shyt from emerginh in todays music, or maybeim a conspiracy bnut and the truth is that theres just alot of lames with shyt taste who consume music much like they would fastfood, and only want a momentary soundtrack to the everyday lives versus timeless music thats evokes emotions, creative aspiration and an immersive expereicne that doesnt require whatever drug of choice to do so.

Wack shows? Wtf are you talking about.

Jeezy was marketing an image.

I don't get why we are comparing rappers of this gen to Big Pac and Jay... Rappers that y'all hold to the upmost standard.

Rappers can be dope af and not be those rappers
That's right wack shows. That right there shows me your lack of understanding of the culture and black culture as a whole. Black artists have always competed with who gives the best live show. Certain artists has reputations as being hard to follow behind becuz it was hard to top their show. These nikkas now aren't practicing their live shows. If they did they wouldn't need to have the actual track backing them. It shows a lack of stage presence

As far as image goes of corse Jeezy was marketing an image. Every single rapper before and after him have marketed an image. I compared Jeezy to those rappers becuz he is from the generation after them. The ones who carried the torch. He isn't from your generation so you might not understand what I'm getting at. Like I said Jeezy is my peer so I can speak on my generation with a little more insight than you can.

How old are you? Jeezy is around my age so unless your in your mid 30s like me he's not from your generation.

I'll name the rappers giving wack shows if you answer the question i originally asked. Who were these rappers rhyming these big ass words?

Cuz the BAR post 04' minus a few classics has been set horrifyingly low :scust:......Only thing this era has excelled at is the production sound itself.
Nd the ability to make money independently. Outside of these factors......rap fans just been settling :manny: An occasional banger here nd there. U new nggas are different nd cant relate so u dont know no better :pacspit:

Nothing much to talk. Past 15 years was made for hoes and remedial type brehs. Plus the music and trends age like milk.

This generation is the least creative, most repetitive and simple ass shyt.

shyt is embarrassing. When a nikka like Futue is the hottest, we all lose...being a dummy is cool with you young nikkas. nikkas try and put you on game, they flabby and old...maybe you slow ass nikkas need to pop in something with a little more substance once and a while.

fukking morons....Molly Percocet...:snoop:

It's fukking sad.

Facts. This music is like techno now.

Bruh Jeezy came out in 05. You don't have to be in your mid 30s to understand the career arch of Jeezy.

Big Rhyming words is how describe the era y'all like. Really its just the type of lyrical rappers y'all prop up from the 90s
And you are one of the dikkriders:yeshrug:

Name the legions of Drake fans polluting the booth.
