why is everyone in The Booth trapped in the early-to-mid 2000s?

I don't expect SOHH nikkas to be on uzi and them, that would be odd.
I fully expect lil jits to register and take over this site within the next few years.

Sucks Kodak gets lumped in with the Yachty's and Uzi's because his music and their music is far different than people understand or want to understand
came in here to say this, and I was one of them flabby nikkas who did it too, he just dropped his 1st mainstream album with little promo and did 70k 1st week at 19, you got people who have been rapping for 10-20 years on here that get stanned but can't do those numbers overall :sas2:

It goes both ways.

"Am I the only one who thinks that Eminem's music hasn't aged well?" - Old Booth poster :troll:

"Drake is way more successful at 28 than Tupac was at 28." - Young Booth poster :troll:

In fact, it can even go a third way.

"rakim has better rhyme schemes than eminem" "eminem shyts on kool g rap and nas lyrically" "big daddy kane was the greatest multisyllabic compound imagery metaphorical cylindrical lyricist in history" - The Rhyme King :troll:

I think the issue with a lot of us is we came up in an era where everybody wasn't trying to rap and it was a competition. Everybody wanted to be the best MC and get paid for doing it. Now its people just wanna get paid. Im all for young black men getting paid legally but some just don't love the craft and it shows in the music. Plus with so many people rapping now its watered down the music. Theres still a lot of dope music being made but sometimes we have to look for it. Back in the day dope shyt was unavoidable. We're just stubborn lol

this is just revisionist history and alternative facts.

Rap is still very much a competition rappers just don't focus on making lines end with big rhyming words.

Everyone wanted to monetize their talent of rapping

I made a thread before that basically said 90s head lump everything from 2009 to 2017 in the same bucket and just blindly hate on all of it because it doesnt sound like what they want to be popular
