why is everyone in The Booth trapped in the early-to-mid 2000s?

Jay did start that shyt. I agree with that 100%. But Jay was fronting too becuz that nikka took his bars very serious. Theres a difference between him saying it and a nikka like Jeezy saying it becuz Jeezy really didn't care. Ive always bumped Jeezy too btw
Jeezy took his music just a serious as Jay z did.

Instead of focusing on bars like Jay z. Jeezy put that into hooks, ad-libs, delivery and creating a new organic sound.

You old heads don't get it because if a rappers isn't lyrical then he is limited or not talent which is the furthest thing from the truth

The average poster in the booth are in their mid thirties.

It's the only reason to explain why you see dipset movement threads, 50 cent threads, jay z vs nas threads as if these things are remotely relative to current day events.

I swear dudes on here have weekly amnesia.

That also explain a lot of posters` hate for majority of this current generation`s music.

The radio don't play dat:flabbynsick:

Man, woman, and child
this is just revisionist history and alternative facts.

Rap is still very much a competition rappers just don't focus on making lines end with big rhyming words.

Everyone wanted to monetize their talent of rapping

This isn't revisionist history at all. The competition is gone for the most part. You can tell by the wack live shows they give. Please name these rappers who were rhyming all these big words and I can guarantee you they weren't looked at as some of the best of our generation

Jeezy himself said the only reason he started rhyming is becuz the artists he had working in his studio all got locked up. He started rhyming to keep the lights on. Jay never just focused on bars either he's the complete package. Some of the best never just focused on bars. Big, Jay, Pac all focused on their delivery and hooks. Some of them just happened to be very lyrical as well. Please don't tell me I don't get it becuz I've always been a Jeezy fan prolly when you still had a bed time. I didn't come up on Jeezy he's a peer and I can relate to a lot his music personally

They think the end-all-be-all is either Golden Age hip-hop or the top of mainstream rap music in 2016.
Like the only rappers making music after 05 were Future and Lil Uzi Vert :deadrose:
They can tell you the complexities of virtually unknown 90s rappers, but if you mention an contemporary artist they don't know they act like they don't exist :dead:
By the way, one the wait for that new Vince Staples album and that new Gorillaz album :myman:

So far provisions that you have to stay in NYS for however long it tool you to get the degree. If you leave then your grant will be converted to loans. Now how they going to enforce that I don't know .

it ain't our fault one of the best rappers of your generation is 21 Savage
:manny:

Btw 20th Anniversary thread on Wu Tang Forever coming soon
:umad:

This generation is the least creative, most repetitive and simple ass shyt.

shyt is embarrassing. When a nikka like Futue is the hottest, we all lose...being a dummy is cool with you young nikkas. nikkas try and put you on game, they flabby and old...maybe you slow ass nikkas need to pop in something with a little more substance once and a while.

fukking morons....Molly Percocet...:snoop:

It's fukking sad.

Because the 90's to the early 2000 was when rap had soul and more of a message while still being risky and bold.

Now I hear aye aye aye

fuk a bytch fuk a bytch fuk a bytch~
while watching madden on twitch~
live stream it free that's no glitch~
Brand new neon read and blue nintendo switch~

aye aye aye

Sadly its a joke over all. There are some stand outs, and I enjoy the party dumb music...but over all people listen to the older stuff now because its better and its made to last more than the current trend cycle.
Like this
There is a glut of hip-hop artists producing good music in this day and age, but all they can quote is whatever is spinning on their local radio station :dame:
The same posters also jump between 90s Supremacy, and in a Joey Badass thread complain about his music being "too boom bap." :gucci:

Wack shows? Wtf are you talking about.

Jeezy was marketing an image.

I don't get why we are comparing rappers of this gen to Big Pac and Jay... Rappers that y'all hold to the upmost standard.

Rappers can be dope af and not be those rappers
