And the production is terrible
I think the issue with a lot of us is we came up in an era where everybody wasn't trying to rap and it was a competition. Everybody wanted to be the best MC and get paid for doing it. Now its people just wanna get paid. Im all for young black men getting paid legally but some just don't love the craft and it shows in the music. Plus with so many people rapping now its watered down the music. Theres still a lot of dope music being made but sometimes we have to look for it. Back in the day dope shyt was unavoidable. We're just stubborn lolI respect that, all that I ask is you give nikkas a chance. Majority of the old heads here are biased and are proud of it
The amount of flabbiness in that forum is astounding.
I imagine everyone in The Booth to be no younger than 25 years old.
Dude's mentalities are warped by perceptions and anaylsis that would have only been legitimate if it was 2003.
The lack of any discussion and excitement about new, YOUNG, hip-hop. And only talking about if it's ridiculously mainstream.
Everything viewed through the lens of an flabby person. You can feel the coming from their keyboard.
The same goddamn recycling threads about:
" Ai yo,I didn't know that Dr. Dre produced E-40's 1991 b-side remix to The Geto Boy's The Other Level "
or "Remember the beef between Camron and Stan Spit"
"Remember when Dipset and G-Unit ran NY?"
"The 2000's was the best era in hip-hop" ()
"I miss wearing baggy pants and xxxxxxl shirts "
Only caring about the same rotation of 15 rappers.... I could go on.
If I wanted to learn about the current musical climate I couldn't go to The Booth.
This is actually a great idea for a thread. But that started with yall.I think the issue with a lot of us is we came up in an era where everybody wasn't trying to rap and it was a competition. Jay did start that shyt. I agree with that 100%. But Jay was fronting too becuz that nikka took his bars very serious. Theres a difference between him saying it and a nikka like Jeezy saying it becuz Jeezy really didn't care. Ive always bumped Jeezy too btwThis is actually a great idea for a thread. "fukk rap, I'm tryna make cream and that's that"
And lowkey the whole I'm not a rapper I'm a trapper is something Jay-Z started
As far of the gates of access wider than ever before, that's just a consequence of living in the digital age
I could honestly make a thread about new music from the younger generation but I'm not about wasting my time if it's not always gonna be talked
But a lot of young nikkas didn't see that it was just posturing at the time. Same way that when Jay (and Wayne) said they don't write, everybody stopped writing, even tho I'm sure Jay was still writing a good portion of his rhymes.Jay did start that shyt.
