Them dudes were killing everything leading up to the album. Dope $, Tommys Theme, Reservor Dogs, Blackout, Kiss of Death, The Clue freestyles etc
that's what I mean tho. Streets were anticipating WATS off of these strong appearances. Then they couldn't deliver. Some crappy Swizz beats, repetitive subject matter, totally out-of-place Timbaland cut...album is a 3/5 affair, saved by strong performances from Jada and sometimes Styles and a few hard cuts like Recognize, Fukk U and Blood Pressure

If you think the album was wack, thats all opinion. But to say the streets or nobody was bumping it is a fukking lie. There was high anticipation for the album because everybody was curious of what they were gonna do since they left Puff and they were on that Fukk Shiny Suits shyt. I had went to the RR/Cash Money jawn and they were dissing Puff then by coming out in Shining Suits and then ripping them up and throwing them in the crowd.

Songs like Blood Pressure and F*ck You had nikkahs automatically wanting a Jadakiss solo afterwards. Them dudes were killing everything leading up to the album. Dope $, Tommys Theme, Reservor Dogs, Blackout, Kiss of Death, The Clue freestyles etc

exactly.

people are entitled to their opinions, but all that extra stuff dudes are doing in here, str8 rewriting history.

they don't even realize that theyre just exposing themselves.

that's not all you were saying.

don't try to change it up now.

you were also rambling off, claiming that the album had no impact or influence. str8 self-exposal.

the 1 poster who knew better, opted to slide thru the back-door and avoid this altogether when asked.

Having a disappointing but highly-anticipated album (therefore ppl posting "eastcoast was bumping this album all the time") does not build a legacy or influence the game, easy as that. Accept your L and move on

When Mobb Deep dropped "Quiet Storm" remix, it didn't matter where you from, that was an instant classic. That song alone elevated Kim. Biggie writing for her haunted her career, well he was dead two years by the time she dropped the verse and it had people seeing her in a different light. Possible inspiration for CNN to create "Bang Bang" feat. Foxy, which was a response to Kim's verse.

The beat alone was a freestyle favorite.

The original solo version with Prodigy was enough to set up his solo alone. "I put my lifetime in between the paper's lines".

"Quiet Storm" alone is more classic and legendary than anything off WATS.

okay. youre a clown. my last post towards you.

how does it not build a legacy if your album is inescapable in the streets for dam near two years?? that's ultimate impact.
how do you not have influence when dam near every east coast street rapper to come out since then, was influenced by your chit?? even your rap rivals are on record admitting it.

and I'm still waiting on that long list of mobb deep influences. you even quoted me asking for this multiple times, and didn't even attempt to back up your claims. just following internet rhetoric.

I'm still waiting on these mob deep influences. yall in here playing duck-duck-goose.

Lil' Kim was viewed in a different light. I ain't about to start a separate argument here. She was viewed differently because that verse was praised without the looming "Biggie wrote it" stigma attached to it. Her album was a critical flop, but still sold. Part of the reason, she dropped the ball is people expected "Quiet Storm" caliber songs and got an album that aimed towards Pop superstardom.

And I just pointed out how "Quiet Storm" inspired CNN's "Bang Bang". "But they the QB homies", well Queens is in NY and we're talking influence over the streets of NY. CNN is one of the more grittier groups out of NY.

Now how exactly did WATS influence and impact Hip Hop? What artists did WATS influence?

The answers should've been in the OP.
