We are the Streets is far from classic and 3.5 at best. I never understood the Lox hype. Outside of a Gangsta and a Gentlemen their catalog as a group and solo has been full of mediocre albums. I think comparing the Lox to Mobb Deep is laughable too. Mobb Deeps 3rd best album (Murda Musik) is better then We Are the Streets and I don't know if I would call that a classic

we're not arguing over what album we think is better.

that guy/girl seems to think that mobb deep was hotter on the streets than the LOX by this point.

that's what we're arguing about. we're not dealing with musical opinions right now.

now go ahead and tell the honest truth torcher. and leave your personal feelings out of it. we already know your dislike for the LOX is well-documented.

lol @ the bolded.

the lox were the main influence over east coast street rap from like 98 to present day.
how is that not influence/longevity?

WATS is the main reason why jada's solo was so anticipated.

just say you didn't like the album and youre not really up on them like that.
cuz all this other stuff youre doing is just making you look bad. like really bad.

I think UGK's ridin dirty is meh, but youre not gonna see me up here saying that they had no impact/influence/longevity in their jurisdiction. i'd be talking out of my ass if I went that far.
I guarantee I was a way bigger Lox/RR/Jada fan back in 99-01 than you ever were, so I do know what I'm talking about

Jada's solo wasn't anticipated cause of WATS, total bullshyt. He made his name through various mixtapes in the years before, and his various guest features, most notably his solo cut on the first Ryde Or Die Compilation

WATS didn't change anything, had almost zero influence, not one song was ever remade or had a pt. 2 continuation...wtf u on? Shyt was a flop

Lox were far from the main influence on east coast hardcore rap in 98-01, Mobb Deep and DMX were far bigger names with bigger fan base, streets cred and sales

you may have been a bigger fan but you clearly weren't in the loop. you can have a bunch of their posters on your wall, but it doesn't mean you know whats going on in the streets up here.
I'm not even having this discussion with you anymore. you clearly don't know what youre talking about b.

no diss, but its basically two guys that prolly have never even been on east coast soil, trying to tell me whats popular & influential up here.

and lol @ mobb deep. next yall gonna tell me that rakim in '99 was had more impact/influence up here than the LOX.

edit: I'm not saying that jada's buzz was solely off of WATS. they were already big before that. I'm saying that was the nail in the coffin.

Lox having more influence than MOBB DEEP?!

Stans running WILD
Pathetic stanley this homeboy is. And I was a bigger RR fan than Mobb fan in the 90s/early 00s, but pretending Lox had more love/influence in the hood and in the rap game per se than Prodigy and Havoc is laughable. Now if we talk the entire RR crew, that's a different story

I just want to say the album art is horrendous. It's like if somebody wanted an album called "I'm the shyt" and photoshopped their face into a dirty toilet bowl :mjlol:

If you think the album was wack, thats all opinion. But to say the streets or nobody was bumping it is a fukking lie. There was high anticipation for the album because everybody was curious of what they were gonna do since they left Puff and they were on that Fukk Shiny Suits shyt. I had went to the RR/Cash Money jawn and they were dissing Puff then by coming out in Shining Suits and then ripping them up and throwing them in the crowd.

Songs like Blood Pressure and F*ck You had nikkahs automatically wanting a Jadakiss solo afterwards. Them dudes were killing everything leading up to the album. Dope $, Tommys Theme, Reservor Dogs, Blackout, Kiss of Death, The Clue freestyles etc
