You know why? Because there is a lot of other areas like France, Japan, Korea, etc. that can go toe-to-toe with us.

...'can go toe-to-toe with us...?' - American cinema has been garbage since the 70s... :comeon:

For the last time, are any of your shows better than the shows I currently watch? If the answer is "no", then why the fukk would I watch them?

Yeah I dunno why anyone would want to watch intelligent, funny and entertaining TV programmes. :comeon:

And yes, a number of the programmes mentioned are better then 'Lost' for example, which is overrated as a mutherfukker, and 'Homeland' which I actually like.

All I see is people getting emotional and dodging the question I've been asking for 2 pages now.

Fred.

...and you keep dodging the question of judging and dismissing programmes you've never seen and know nothing about... :what:

American cinema been garbage since the 70s? Are you high on crack?

Don't make completely retarded statements about America based on your frustrations with me.

"Lost" is garbage, I mentioned it due to it's popularity. There is a reason for you to hear of it, there is no reason for me to hear of the shows you named so :wtf: at people getting upset I haven't heard of your local shows.

They aren't very well known outside of their respective regions and they're inferior to what I currently watch.

But wait, let me hurry up and marathon watch them all. :stopitslime:

I told myself I was done, but...

:snoop:

First of all, you haven't even watched the shows, so  on that point.

Second, nobody gives a fukk if you haven't watched them, haven't heard of them, or don't care to watch them. You came in the thread saying that the threadstarter needed to "step his TV game up" because he listed shows that YOU hadn't heard of, and are now saying that the shows you watch are better than these solely because you haven't heard of these shows. THAT'S what people are taking issue with.

And now you're trying to play the victim because people are jumping on you for your dumb ass posts and false sense of superiority in this thread.

 @ Hexgram. Dude has a point most of those shows are meh compared to the top tier American shows. Although Sherlock and Luther are very dope TV shows which can stand up to anything.

When it comes to movies tho Brits are way better in that than television.

I watch "Breaking Bad", "The Wire", "The Sopranos", "Boardwalk Empire", "Game of Thrones", "Homeland"....some of the greatest shows in the history of TV.

But I need to step my TV game up? :russ:

Hell, you don't even have a globally popular show equivalent to "Lost" or "The X-Files". The shows you mentioned are niche, mostly only popular where they originated.

The reason the U.S. takes shows from other places, and not vice versa, is because our shows wouldn't work where you are. You can't remake "Boardwalk Empire", or "The Sopranos". Or hell, even "Breaking Bad". The whole fukking premise would have to be different.

Fred.

spoken like a true idiot that has never left usa.

why would breaking bad, and sapranos not work in uk? which country is closer to italy uk or usa? are the saprano's not italians? :russ:

They are on some obscure shyt compared to a global phenomenon like "Lost".

Dude made a thread acting like U.S. needs to remake foreign TV shows....no, we remake that shyt because they're easy to remake and takes very little effort. It has nothing to do with their quality.

For example, all you have to do is tweak the humor of "The Office" and you can set that show anywhere in the world.

You can't remake "The Wire". And if you're saying those shows are on the level of "The Wire", I will check them out. And if they ain't, then why would I?

Fred.

drugs are sold everywhere in the world dummy, why could you not remake the wire anywhere?

Brehs, you need to set your emotions and misplaced regional loyalty aside and answer my question.

Do you have an equivalent to "The Wire"? It's a simple question. I'm betting you don't, because it's widely seen as the GOAT TV show.

And if the answer is "no", and I watch "The Wire", then why would I check for your shows? It's not rocket science. Why check for shows that are inferior to the ones I currently watch?

Fred.

you're not getting the point, and yes the uk version of the wire would probably be 'top boy'

you're failing to understand the point, the point is why do usa remake english classics and make them inferior to the original. its not about what mainstream tv you watch that everyone else watches.
