:comeon::stopitslime::rudy:

Let's not act like they haven't remade our shows, like That '70s Show or Good Times or Married... with Children.

And a lot of OUR classic shows were remade from (sometimes forgotten) British shows, like Three's Company or All in the Family.

lol, none of those shows have been remade. :wtf:

there is no 'that 70's show UK' lmao :krs:

but why not just import the english version to usa :mindblown: ?? no one new is making money because all the remakes are done by the same people that are making the originals

your comedy is not always considered funny over here and in more serious shows your shyt is often not hard enough.

The American networks are working money, I'm sure NBC has made a ton of money off The Office. Plus in that particular case, the U.K. version of the show only had like 6 or 7 episodes, the American one is lasting 9 seasons. If you're a network exec who's job is to make money, which would you rather do?

Plus it is about ownership and the ability to change things, even if the changes may be inferior to the original. In some cases they have imported both, Being Human UK aired on BBC America while Being Human US aired on Syfy.

....then he's not the one who needs to step his TV game up, breh.

you havent heard of the shows... yet you say it is I that should step my tv game up? :why:

That shyt didn't even begin to make sense, especially since those are all really good shows :heh:

I watch "Breaking Bad", "The Wire", "The Sopranos", "Boardwalk Empire", "Game of Thrones", "Homeland"....some of the greatest shows in the history of TV.

But I need to step my TV game up? :russ:

Hell, you don't even have a globally popular show equivalent to "Lost" or "The X-Files". The shows you mentioned are niche, mostly only popular where they originated.

The reason the U.S. takes shows from other places, and not vice versa, is because our shows wouldn't work where you are. You can't remake "Boardwalk Empire", or "The Sopranos". Or hell, even "Breaking Bad". The whole fukking premise would have to be different.

Yes, very much so, if you're seriously gonna act like the shows in the OP, all of which have been critically acclaimed, are some obscure shyt.

And you were the one who said that "step your TV game up" bullshyt anyway. We're just pointing out how stupid you sounded. :yeshrug:

They are on some obscure shyt compared to a global phenomenon like "Lost".

Dude made a thread acting like U.S. needs to remake foreign TV shows....no, we remake that shyt because they're easy to remake and takes very little effort. It has nothing to do with their quality.

For example, all you have to do is tweak the humor of "The Office" and you can set that show anywhere in the world.

You can't remake "The Wire". And if you're saying those shows are on the level of "The Wire", I will check them out. And if they ain't, then why would I?
