Hun I agree with you when you say women should pick better men. I think that's a universal concept. To pick someone who you know will be a good parent. The question is why is there so many men who don't want to take care of their kids and love them.

If a man is broke has no money for his kids he can still come to see them, hang with them, teach him etc. I'm talking about the man that does nothing for his kids.

Nah the issue wouldn't exist as often if women weren't held to childlike standards. When it comes to this story we know how this story plays out most times when things go sideways so women need to take more responsibility on this. More times than not women will have the kid so if you going to let some dude get you pregnant you need to be even more careful than somebody that can walk away from that responsibility.

Exactly and that's why nobody takes these types of chicks serious making these decisions. I haven't done no studies but I bet if there was one it would lead to a predictable traits pattern of guys most likely to "leave". I would bet it is the stereotypical dude you mentioned over the avg hard working, college educated, "nice" guy. At least that's usually how it plays out IRL from the little I see personally of this issue.

what bothers me is how single mothers misrepresent how they got pregnant. they pretend like they were in a committed relationship with some stable brother in college. he graduated, knocked the chick up, then skipped town with a white girl, after he got a high paying job.

Generally there are many different factors as to why a man would not be in the picture to take care of his kids. Most of the factors have to do with the woman involved, either she's kray and he just wants to be as far from her as possible or the state ruled in her favor in a custody battle.

Personally, I don't think it's normalized. The majority of cats I know are in their kids lives. There is a misconception that black men refuse to take care of their children, just like there is a misconception black women all have shytty attitudes.

With that said, If you want an answer to that question, you might want to ask the cats you know personally why they're not in their children's lives. The coli ain't the place for these types of discussions.

Most people would agree that a father not being in a child's life is harmful to their development.

Some fathers leave.
Other fathers are purposely kept away because if their financial situation. But ultimately, it's the kid who suffers. And since these mothers are actively denying their children their fathers, they deserve a big part of the blame for how they turn out.
