Don't know why nikkas are over analyzing.

When you're the top dog, u're gonna be hated on:yeshrug:

If Nas was on Jay's level of success, the roles would be reversed:smugfavre:

His stans are the worst to begin with

Self pro-claimed King of rap....then all of a sudden sheep follow and agree (similar to what Lil Wayne did)

Over-rated ... top 5 yes, number 1..no

Often times Jay-Z's financial accomplishments hold more weight than the quality of his music does...some dudes don't aspire to be filthy reach, some dudes just wanna live comfortably...just because Jay sold more and has more, doesn't mean his music is better...people who usually argue this are known as ManFans
His stans are rarely the ones that say he's better cause his swag or business shyt. That's usually people who don't know shyt about his music. As far as claiming king, he's claimed king over whatever he does. That's a hiphop thing that comes from his past as a battle rapper, there are far less qualified people claiming king, boss or whatever.

As far as his financials, there is people who "overrate" him for that and people who "underrate" him for the exact same shyt.

And you sound like a hater calling him overrated, what are you basing that of? He's not your favorite rapper fine. But he's millions of cats favorite rapper and they are wrong cause you don't agree? Art is imo the hardest shyt to measure, cause you can't measure anything quantitatively.

I don't like Jigga cuz I don't think he's that good. His verses lately have been ass water

If Nas can still spit like he was when he was 17, 20+ years later there should be no excuse why Jigga can get a pass rappin these lazy ass half assed struggle bars

lol, what exactly did son do to be hated so much? i'm not talking about online neither (he's hated on there too), but offline almost everybody who's somewhat of a hip hop head hates him, smh

i was telling somebody that most of our favorite mc's could never make a song as mind numbing as "allure" and their response was "f*ck jay-z, he's wack"

?????? yall gotta stop this mane. you can dislike somebody but don't let it affect your ability to be objective.

You are not being objective either....You are clearly in love with Jay Z's music...

Once you become a fan, it's impossible to be objective...Jay Z actually has more lovers than haters...

But I am not a Jay Z fan so I am not being objective either...

the majority of Jay Z songs I like are his singles and few non-singles here and there e.g. Dope Man...But for me, his best songs are the ones he released as singles...

Since I am not too keen on Jay Z's music, from my perspective, it seems like Jay Z has way too many unwarranted lovers...

I actually think Jay Z's claim to GOAT status is 95% based on his financial success and not his music catalogue, because in my opinion, Jay Z has one of the weakest discography among potential GOATs of the mid-90's era...

Of course, the fact that I am not a Jay Z fan influences my opinion...

And you can replace "Jay Z" with any rapper's name, and what I just typed will still hold some truth...

To the lovers, the hero is over-hated...To haters, the hero is over-loved...That goes for any artist/performer...

C'mon Doeboy, no need to try to derail the thread
How does asking for clarification of a post derail a thread doeboy? If you can't explain yourself then just say that. If anything details a thread or discussion it's the bytchy attitude that you just copped.

i can't believe no one has said "it's his voice" yet, haha.

even jay-z himself admits that his voice is kind of weak. his voice is like nails on a chalkboard to me sometimes, coupled with the extra breathy delivery and it gets hard to bare. son still be spittin tho!

I also think Jay-z's haters are more vocal than other haters.
Based of the-coli, most Jay-z threads created are from his haters, most posters in those threads are from his haters as well.

This doesn't give the clear picture, cause Jay-z obviously have a lot more love than hate. The haters are nearly invisible, so they got to make up for it by being 10 times more vocals than the fans.

Which voice are you referring to? The 94-96 voice the 97-2000 voice or the current one?

IMO the 98-2000 was the best voice, but weakest flow.
And the voice/delivery was too hood.

most people hate jay because if biggie were alive he wouldn't be in the position he is in. He wouldn't be known as the Brooklyn rapper, biggie would have been.

I don't believe that...

Jay Z and Biggie weren't even in the same lane or style..."Reasonable Doubt" and "Ready To Die" are two different albums...

Jay Z was never on that "shock" rap tip like Biggie...These guys were different rappers...

Jay Z would still be Jay Z with or without Biggie...He is a better writer than Biggie, and he really studies the market to quote Jay Z "we are students of the of the game"....That's how he became rich and relevant for all these years...

bro, you are incorrect, believe me. i always HATED jay-z, always, if anything i'm a bit of a traitor, haha. i don't listen to his albums unless they're being played around me, i'm not a fan. but i try to be objective despite everything, if someone like me can admit that dude gets busy than anyone can. i hate Kobe Bryant, he makes me sick, but how can I front like he aint top 10 ever? sometimes sh!t just is what it is.

Well Doeboy, there is threads where people defend dude no matter what he does, I remember reading a thread about Jay selling crack for 60 hours straight and his only mode of survival was eating cookies, and the amount of people defending him there was comedy:heh: even you were on there defending him like always, thats just one example. I can go on for days, but back to original topic, Jay is one of the most loved rappers, I rarely see the hate, if anything its people that hate his stans, like you and Harry B
