I don't know why either. I can understand not being all into his music like some of his fans but I feel like if you love Hip Hop then you should at least be able to tolerate him.

loyalty before royalty.
You either hate or love jigga, that's not the case for a lot of other rappers today (Wayne, Kanye and maybe Drake as well). There is not a lot of fans that are indifferent to jigga like to other rappers. But I'm assuming that this is based of The Coli and shyt, not real life. If The-Coli reflect real life Nas would be 10 times diamonds and Jay-z would be an unsuccessful Justin Bieber. We are talking about the rapper who got 100s of movies of people with thousands or millions of views calling him the devil and anyone who works with him is the devil as well .news to me...from my experiences Jay-Z is prolly the single most beloved living rapper in the world...only rappers I think get more love are Pac and (maybe) Big, and that's because they're dead and basically mythical at this point...or maybe Eminem by greater Cac-dom...but other than that, Jay is held in pretty high unimpeachable regard...I know dudes my age, grown ass men, that legitimately idolize that man on some "Jay-Z is my role model" type ish...most of the hate he gets I think is prolly a function of the overwhelming love he gets, which is kinda inevitable

I don't know who is a hiphop purist though, cause all the 80s rappers love Hov.LOL. I'm basically just talking about the hip hop purists, that sect, not regular dudes who just wanna swag out and feel cool and sh!t, they worship jay-z. i don't understand how hip hop loyalists could dislike someone who's nice, that's basically all i'm saying, it's counter-intuitive.
This is absolute bullhshyt.
He puts just as much effort into his music as well as his business side.
To say he doesn't bleed this hip hop sh1t and he isn't genuine hasn't heard Reasonable Doubt, Blueprint and The Black Album.
Jay deserves his props for pushing the hiphop game forward and while making great music he possibly can. you should appreciate him while hes still here. I mean who will ever replace Jay-Z when he gone?
same goes for Nas too. its gonna be a sad day when that happens.
So what exactly constitutes "defending" someone? "he has people that will defend him no matter what". I have no idea what that means.Jay gets hated on, but at the same time he has stans ready to go to war for him, defending him no matter what he does, it goes both ways
