You was right. I always looked at cheating as kipping and swinging. I was basically cheating at the top with my forearms and wrist that put strain on my elbow. I did them how he said(I didn’t use the strap) and now I can only do 5 straight now but it feels better and no hint of elbow pain.

anyone fukking with muscle ups? think i need to those now
I've been trying to do a muscle up for a while but can't get it...i always get stuck half way when I'm trying to pull myself over the bar...feels like I need more core work

Anybody got any tips?

are these reps valid?

I do full range of motion on pull ups...
...is there any benefit to how he did these?

I didn't want to say it but............

He's definitely strong, especially doing the pull-ups with what he was wearing but that ROM was a bit tight.
