Thicke and Justin are more "soulful" than Derulo and so are Sam Smith and Hozier.
not for real. Dont let the soundscape fool u. Ad-libbing/runs is when u can tell if a singer TRULY has soul. Both of them lack in that department

When Derulo can make something half as soulful and upbeat as this song I'll acknowledge he is in the same category as Aloe.
I never compared the 2. I named both of them simply becuz they are both black but get no play on black stations, but instead they get play on pop stations
I didn't address you per say. There was a post in here that did say Derulo > Aloe though.
someone edited my post to say that.
been a an aloe fan since below the heavens. Good Things was in my top 10 of 2010. hasnt put out much heat since then, but i hear he is working with exile for a new noname record.
Wats Below the Heavens? Blu album?
yup. Aloe Blacc and MIguel all over the record before they blew. and then they stopped working with blu
Below the Heavens is one of my fav albums. Dropped in like 07-08 so i had no idea who Aloe Blak was besides the mentions on that album. Then those headphone commercials blew up and i was like aint "aloe blak" the dude shouted out on Blu album? I always meant to make a thread asking why Miguel seemed to have "forgot" about Blu after he blew up

His "sound" (which is overall pleasant and non threatening) is deemed corny to black people. We have been conditioned this way. A poster named @Insensitive in another thread JUST told me its lame for black people to listen to Bruno Mars. See? We've been engineered for 400+ years to reject anything "positive" sounding. Thats why we are so drawn to the dark, demonic sounding trap sound.

Never heard of him, but listening now. I like it.
