In the 60s and especially during the 70s a lot of artists were using live instruments and in-house bands (some credited and uncredited) to record their music and sounds. In the 80s that's when artists started using more musical equipment, 60s and 70s artists were much more organic.

That's not saying the 80s weren't innovative or original, it's just artists during that time approached music making differently.

It did not "age better".

It's better.

Something that "doesn't age well" is just simply wack.

How it becomes popular at its time? I will never be able to solve that one. Human stupidity is to blame and that subject seems to have no bottom.

1. That ain't the argument. 'Big production = bad' is your issue.

2. That is a false claim since, a) Lakesides' biggest hit/most successful albums were in the 80's and, b) Kool & The Gang had more success in the 80's than the 70's.

producers overdid use of new electronic instruments and much of the music sounds constipated and overproduced.

the melodies lack room to breathe.

plenty of classics still tho.

compare loose ends' earlier albums with 90's style "look how long"
