Why Did 70's Music Age So Much Better Than 80's Music?

In the 60s and especially during the 70s a lot of artists were using live instruments and in-house bands (some credited and uncredited) to record their music and sounds. In the 80s that's when artists started using more musical equipment, 60s and 70s artists were much more organic.

That's not saying the 80s weren't innovative or original, it's just artists during that time approached music making differently.

I listen to music from the 80's more the I listen to music from the 70's. Actually... now that I think about it... I listen to 80's music way more than I listen to 70's music.

technology causes some problems. it lowers the bar for entry into the arts and creates a flood of less talented artists. also, early adopters end up with dated sounds.

It did not "age better".

It's better.

Something that "doesn't age well" is just simply wack.

How it becomes popular at its time? I will never be able to solve that one. Human stupidity is to blame and that subject seems to have no bottom.

I honestly feel the 80s were the goat era for music except the end when New Jack Swing came in. That shyt aged HORRIBLY.

1. That ain't the argument. 'Big production = bad' is your issue.

2. That is a false claim since, a) Lakesides' biggest hit/most successful albums were in the 80's and, b) Kool & The Gang had more success in the 80's than the 70's.​
