I never said no good music came out in the '80s.

I Love TONS of '80s music.

What I said and the whole point of the thread is that '70s music AGED better.

I haven't seen anything in this thread that has shown anything to the contrary.
And you won't because, to you, it can't exist.

That's your opinion and you're entitled to it.

Most Black folks will pick "Off The Wall" (1979) over "Thriller" (1982) :yeshrug:

whatever you think that 4-combo 80's thriller + bad + triumph + victory hits >>>>>>>. his non-80's stuff .

:camby:

that takes care of the disco stuff

and if you want to go deep into brehdom nothing beats maze, gap band, mtume,

these are anthems ... not just music

...

put them on the next time a true breh is in the vicinity and see :hubie:

put some respek on 80's name

All great music I grew up on, but as I said, go to a Black picnic/family reunion and ask "Thriller" or "Off The Wall".

What reaction you gonna get? :stopitslime:

Go to a Black picnic/family reunion and ask which era was better "Dancing Machine", "ABC", "Good Times", "Show You Where To Go", Shake Your Body" or "Torture" & "Heartbreak Hotel".

What reaction you gonna get?:stopitslime:

Prime Prince is great, but not better than prime Stevie Wonder or Marvin Gaye in the '70s

All those groups are great, but not greater than prime Earth, Wind, & Fire, Parliament, Isley Brothers, Donny Hathaway,, Heatwave, Ohio Players, Curtis Mayfield, etc. . .? :yeshrug:

I think the way they played instruments was better in the 70’s too, had to be more on point creating the record. The tech of the 80’s allowed for more screw ups and do overs with half of it being electronic anyway.

What’s crazy to me is that 80’s jpop sounds like a perfect blend of both eras.
