American actors are not putting in work, period. If you look closely the same people that were popular in 2000 (Leo, Clooney, Smith, Denzel, Pitt, Cruise) are still in the game now. There hasn't been that handover that those guys got from Hanks, Stallone, Nicholson

lol no English actor I know is taking a cut, you think idris is taking a cut?
and im not even talking about starting actors, every occupation on the planet you get paid less when you first begin.

Yet you listed a bunch of starters before to make an earlier point :mjlol:

Even in the pic you posted only about 6 of the 40+ actors are established :mjlol:.

American actors can barter for more and get paid considerably more that's why they're the highest paid, the stars and the A-Listers :umad:

but americans don't get paid more, what actors do you actually know in real life? lmao breh harry potter as a kid was getting paid more than a lot of American actors

breh breh, the cast of game of thrones getting paid more than most americans on tv

breh breh, idris elba is one of the richest male actors of this year

what are you talking about? do you know any actors personally because it sounds like you're just assuming. a lot of the actors mentioned are established but through your ignorance you're unaware.

:mjlol:@ this nonsense. No English actor can command like an American A-Lister.

Top 10 highest paid of Film and TV actors are all Americans :mjlol:

Elba isn't even an A-Lister :mjlol:, when he can command a $15M-20M+ salary for a movie or even make that annually like Denzel, Will, The Rock and Sam L hit me up, until then :umad:

lol so Daniel craig doesn't command when he plays james bond?
idris elba doesn't command in all his films?
the English lead in fargo doesn't command?
rick from TWD doesn't command? rick also gets paid more than any other actor in that show

like I said what actors do you personally know? every US actor I know or spoken to say 'hey man the brits doing there thing right now' they know that british people are taking over especially black briths actors.

what is it about American actors that they avoid theatre?
America has a culture that promotes a certain type of masculinity that differs from that in Western Europe, theater isn't seen as cool or masculine at the middle/high school or college level...the age most euros are starting to take acting seriously.

Add in the fact that our young actors here end up on abc family or disney shows, they're working earlier without classic training while also being in roles that don't really promote development or require skill.

Lastly, this is the US where people dabble here and there hoping to get on, a lot of male actors don't really specialize in acting, it's a side hobby that actually turns into something - the failed athlete, part time model, reality star turned actor, etc.

The women are doing better, but I definitely feel our picture of masculinity doesn't help males really get into acting.

Alot of American actors take the Brad Pitt approach to getting into Hollywood they take a few acting classes with an acting coach taking small/medium roles while working waiter jobs in LA/Hollywood and some get lucky and make it but you also have actors like Chadwick Bosemon who have been putting in work actually studying the craft and doing stage work to keep busy.. So there are definitely American actors putting in work, they just have a hard time finding it.

Also... alot of those European actors come from schools where they specifically train actors. They are learning various US accents... which is somewhat a new thing. The older actors didn't rely on learing US accents beause they weren't concerned with getting US roles like the yoiunger generation is today.

As already said, English and Europeans actually study the craft by doing stage work and character analysis. Meanwhile alot of americans, esp in our generation, are fame whores which may explain why more and more of us are gravitating towards internet fame (youtube, ig, vine).

Not saying the english are necessarily better than us though bc most of our critically acclaimed actors/and actresses in america also went to drama school OR they at least started out on the stage. (Guys like denzel and jeffery wright didn't study theatre in college but they did hone their skills on the stage).

It's all about the art:ohlawd: that's why you see so many wannabes heading to l.a. but end up working at Jamba juice for yrs waiting for that big break.:beli:
