Look it at like this: In the UK, a guy can go to his friends and say, "I'm studying to become an actor and I've got the lead in a small production of Hamlet." And no one will accuse him of being gay.

In the UK, acting is a legit craft that you can pursue. That's not how it is in the US.

Not to mention, that the age of the movie star is slowly dying. Think about. How many male American stars got their big break in the last 5 years?

very interesting

this is probably why black americans can't do accents, as they are not as deeply trained as uk actors.

How often do Black people get to be non-Americans on film? For us, it's hood or American (usually with slang laced dialogue) characters. I guess they have African immigrant victims in Law and Order, but not often.

True. I guess I was thinking of it from a purely American Hollywood blockbuster film perspective.

I don't know where your black people can't do accents idea came from. What about the American South? Can American Black people do that accent?

British: Term comprising people from England, Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. Based on that picture I see several Welsh ( Christian Bale, Michael Sheen, Mathew Rhys) and Northern Irish ( Jamie Dornan, Liam Neeson) so nah Im gonna stick to British. And Im saying all time there aint no fukkin Brit touching American acting legends.

Really?

I'd say the likes of Daniel Day-Lewis could 'fukk' with any american legend.:yeshrug:

lol so Daniel craig doesn't command when he plays james bond?
idris elba doesn't command in all his films?
the English lead in fargo doesn't command?
rick from TWD doesn't command? rick also gets paid more than any other actor in that show

like I said what actors do you personally know? every US actor I know or spoken to say 'hey man the brits doing there thing right now' they know that british people are taking over especially black briths actors.

Elba is paid peanuts compared to the likes Denzel, The Rock, Will who can command $15-20M per film, something that Elba cannot do :mjlol:.

Denzel got $20M alone off one-off shyt like 2Guns :mjlol:

Craig can't command outside of Bond :mjlol:

All clowns like you do is cherry pick certain English actors and then ignore the good American actors and rubbish English actors like Emilia Clarke for instance.

English actors are better, yet American actors are the A-Listers, the highest paid and the ones you actually remember.

"They're just about their craft" yet they're running to Hollywood/America to seek global fame and earn more for roles than what they would get staying in England :mjlol:

Who remembers Don Cheadle's cockney accent in the Ocean's films?:mjlol:

With that said, while accents are impressive there's only really one great black british actor and that's Chiwetel Ejiofor.

The rest are pretty average. I mean i loved Idris in the wire but he's not an elite actor by any stretch of the imagination.:francis:

I realise there's reasons for it, but white people dominate in the British acting stakes.
