It's kind of annoying to be honest. They good actors i can respect that but I really wonder if these cats are seeked out immediately or if they really checking for American talent. I mean they can't even find Latinos to play Latinos most times. I call bs on hollywood, some kind of fukkin games they play.

I think they are as good if not better and come cheaper especially on this 13 episode cable drama shyt.
The Latino thing is just usual Hollywood racism.

Modern American culture doesn't lend to what cultivates a 'good actor'.

  • Nuance is not valued in our culture, people prefer over the top behavior here
  • Patience with career results is also not valued
  • The paper/fame chase makes actors take roles that probably pay well/get them noteriety in the short-term but is a hinderance to their future
  • Our education system doesn't value 'the arts' in comparison
  • Our education system is overall less rigorous in comparison
Exactly

That and english actors learn the value of mastering accents earlier in their careers

Look at american actors, only the best of the best can pull off a good accent, across the pond they got droves of people who can do that

America has the shyttiest system when it comes to skill specific schooling, mahfukkas overseas be in art/sport specific schools by the time they 10 years old n shyt

I would have a problem with this if the English actors weren't so damn good.

They train for decades and actually learn the craft of acting, they treat it seriously and I respect that.

Lets not front, movie producers are probably blinded by the accent and automatically presume any British actor is classically trained in Shakespearean thespianism. :mjlol:
:russ: Exactly! Also if we think all time their best actors arent better than ours. Also i couod be wrong but the Brits take less money too.

4 years ago I saw 5-6 short films from National Film and Television School in England. One of them was about an old man trying to get a loan and while he's talking to the manager robbers come in a start shooting up the place. This old man (60 years old) was so good I looked him up on IMDB, I legit wanted to see more of his work. That short film was only credit besides something like Man in bookshop (uncredited) in 2-3 TV shows. All of the short films were like that, fantastic actors with few credits to their name.
