Well let's see, probably because the majority of people like viewing acts of physical violence by people that look like they'll do damage. He has the same traps, torso, and arm definition of a dentist that's also his girl. There's people that haven't watched wrestling since The Rock left making Tik-Toks shytting on him and the other marks in the ring that look like him

Adam Cole looked small in NXT but at least he had a bit of definition to him. He still looked funny though and not too believable. But this was NXT and HHH made it work.

Since going to AEW he lost the little definition that he had and developed a dad bod. It makes him look even smaller. He looks small on a roster full of small guys. It's cool that he's over but he still looks like shyt.

What's his gimmick anyway? He has that "Elite" douche aura like the Young Bucks or Omega but it comes off as extremely generic with no character behind it. He looks like a guy that should be cannon fodder in the JAS honestly.

He's just not believable as a wrestler. He looks like the douche that works over in accounts receivable that still reminisces about his days as a fraternity jock.

Rey was marketed as small and incredibly gifted. He's the Rudy of wrestling and incredibly talented.

I've always liked Cole, hasn't been as good in AEW though. Perhaps the torn labrum is preventing him from training as much as he used to, but his body definitely has gone down hill since leaving NXT.
