I don’t really care whether they call themselves world champs or not

But this hand wringing of “How dare the Nuggets say they’re the world champs if they haven’t beat the Euroleague champs or the Brazilian league champs” is ridiculous. We don’t need to see that to know what the real is and we all know it. This all boils down to semantics over a title
If these guys want to waste their time watching the Denver Nuggets beat down the Guangdong Flying Leopards, be my guest.

Let’s take it further, the Denver Nuggets can’t call themselves NBA champions because they didn’t beat me and 4 of my guys at the YMCA
Exactly. This whole argument is dumb. We have all the top talent on the world legitimately. Everyone acting like those players would get to go home to represent their countries in that scenario and it’s false. The Nuggets could play all star teams from France, Spain, Argentina, Greece, Canada etc without their NBA guys and still DOMINATE.

At the bolded :what: da fukk????

And to the second quote... You think those individual NBA teams are that good bro.

nikkaz can ball all over the world my guy.
It's just that the entire NBA has the greatest collection of talent.
But they are spread out on different teams.

Most NBA teams just have 1 star and maybe a second really good player. And a bunch of roll players who would still be regular players overseas.

It would be alot closer than people think.
Also, once you make the leagues more international, talented players like jokic or giannis would have more reason to stay in their country. And they'll be more competitive

It's mind boggling how slow some of you dudes are. Everyone knows the NBA is the best basketball league in the world. No one is arguing that. The NBA champion is not the world champion because they aren't going out there and playing other country's teams. What we are seeing now with FIBA and the Olympics. Those are world championships. It's country vs country. The NBA isn't set up like that.

How is that hard to understand?

No it wouldn't.

Here is the entire history of NBA teams vs international teams. Where the NBA teams were rarely full roster, always in preseason mode and in exhibition...vs the other country going their hardest.

How many 40 point beatdowns by mid level NBA teams do you see? And with nothing on the line, off of summer rest, and mostly non champions.
