a woman isnt winning the republican primary. those voters are going to pick whoever the most red meat alpha male on the stage
they'll push a woman and dare dems to attack them most likely

its more important to them to chop them democrat's legs out than rile up their base now. anyone can do that... probably best for the GOP to have a lot of smaller, different types of Trumps that they can call on when needed than to have a big one as president that they can't control that well.

doesnt matter what the party pushes.

their voters arent going for that and the base runs that party now.

im sure the GOP would love nothing more than for nikki haley to be the nominee but republican voters are not gonna nominate a woman.

they been going for that with no problem the last few elections

i mean shyt, noem doesn't end up on the main stage because she got lost... the GOP was ready to push Palin's dumb ass simply because its more about undercutting democratic talking points on the national level. and they know its more important for the party nationally to degrade democratic strongholds than it is to worry about their key states.

and its hilarious because it'll work :dead: hell, dems are terrified to even say shyt that their party wants to hear because they have to play so nice with swing states. in a few more years, carly fiorina will look like a typical democratic nominee

uh, the right guns and freedoms woman def could. especially when it's backed by her being a mom and wife and showing she knows how to be demure when it counts. a palin-esque woman - like kristi noem - could definitely win vs. running a serious, intelligent woman like haley.

they are going to have those freedom and gun male candidates at the same time and i dont see republican voters choosing any woman over them...

whats the closest a republican woman has gotten to winning a primary? fiorina? bachmann? has a republican woman ever won a state in their primary?

in 2024 we will see who is right anyway, but i think the psychology of republican voters won’t let them nominate a woman for president.

@42 Monks im talking at the presidential level. republican women can win as governors, congress, senate no problem. in a national race like a presidential primary i have a hard time seeing it.

i also dont think this means a republican woman would be less competitive in the general election. just in the primary

Fiorina

But she's not even a politician and the last 20 years or so the republican field has changed quit a bit along with the overall state of the country when it comes to what you can and can't talk about along with who can say it.

The fact that Noem got the GOP center stage kinda speaks for itself though. The Republican national strategy has finally seen its big win with Trump and they got their by throwing their milquetoast usual types of candidates (Cruz, Santorum, Jeb!) in the trash. They're understanding now that they can win with a popularity contest. And because the margins on states is really more about how you can best erode democratic strongholds as their bread and butter states aren't going anywhere ever... the gameplan is there.

The GOP can't quite get away with a black candidate yet. Maybe (definitely) a Hispanic candidate in the next few years.... A woman though? Shiiiiiiiiit :skip: Loyal democratic women and females of all ages turned on Hillary fukking Clinton. They can't fukking wait to flip for a female GOP presidential candidate that's easy to vote for without twisting their morals up. And the republicans will have more fun watching the democrats fall over themselves trying to attack a woman without falling into the traps of being a hypocrite than eating away at their own candidate.

Its either he barely won or he needed a plague and recession combo

it should've been a fukking blowout....

lolwut?

81 million votes
Most votes ever in American history
Highest voter turnout since 1900
Highest share of popular vote against an incumbent since 1932
Won electoral college 303-232, the exact margin Trump won by in 2016, which Trump himself was quick to call a landslide.

But ok, that wasn't a blowout. :mjlol:

and who had the second most? :dead:

people should be fukking horrified that trump had as many votes as he did despite everything that was going on in an election year and being fukking impeached. that cheerleader shyt serves no one.

It’s going to be Kamala. No way the party that literally relies on black people & women will replace Kamala. The only person who could challenge her would be Stacey but Stacey seems more worried about winning the GA Governor election in 2022

why? nothing pointed to trump losing his followers/base. look at all these trump supporters denying the results, killing themselves not wearing masks, making up conspiracy theories about his righteousness, it's clear he's demagogue to his supporters. then there's the other half of the fold that are mainline republicans who'll just vote republican regardless. i'm not sure how biden is being knocked by how popular trump is with his base, the fact that R's vote R, and that white supremacy is a helluva drug.

Second most ain't the most. :smugbiden: And it was still a nearly seven million vote difference. Not exactly a razor thin margin.

I will acknowledge that there are serious discussions that need to be had about certain demographics and localities that Biden underperformed with and/or that swung toward Trump significantly. But overall, no, it was not close, and it is nonsense to claim it was unless you were expecting a Reagan/Mondale landslide, which was never going to happen in this climate.

those obviously aren't the majority of republican voters. that's what's alarming and concerning - clearly the dozens of people at the maga march aren't the ones voting against the democrats in absurd numbers

if they rolled out for trump, then we need candidates that *aren't* hated more than him
