Because even though Bernie is done running for president, he still will have an active and potentially influential movement. Pete only went centrist because everyone knew that it was highly likely a centrist could draw the disgruntled republican vote against Trump and the field was full of progressives.
you're tripping if you think people are going to buy 2020 centrist Pete as 2024 full on Progressive Pete, look at how Kamala's past, and flip flopping, drug her down despite her having a hard progressive record to point to in congress

Yes when you look at this swing stage margins.

Biden only just barely took the Midwest back (those states were all way closer than polls predicted), and AZ/GA could easily go red again with a slightly less unpopular Republican candidate (or slightly lower minority turnout).
and the midwest could go back more blue with a slightly less overtly racist candidate drumming up white resentment and feeding into white supremacy

I'm an ageist. But people turned out lie crazy this past election for two old heads.

Further, Trump is being floated for 2024.:hubie:

I guess a Biden vs. Trump rematch would be one thing (although hopefully Trump isn't healthy enough to run again).

But a much younger GOP candidate vs. Biden would be kind of a bad look just in terms of optics. Rethugs talking points about Biden being senile would probably be more effective if they're running someone significantly younger.

Maybe but I don't think its too far fetched for him to reasonably latch on to the progressive movement considering his 2020 run was centered on out with the old and in with the new. And it definitely isn't hard to imagine a gay man wanting to run on a progressive platform.

trump ain't gonna have the money or political power for shyt by 2024

shyt, by this time next year he'll be lucky to have newt gingrich pull within the party
@acri1, I'm all for you folks, but if Biden is healthy and has a good presidency he's going to run in 2024.

Kamala better be ready to answer those what if questions though. :francis:

Trump has raised $200M since Election Day.

He is running again.
That's on the back of him selling a lot of the same people on the idea that he could some how sidestep the election.

I believe a large portion of his support and donors will move on from him well before 2024, making a run financially impossible for him.

He's gonna make even more money talking hot shyt and not running :russ: the grift is real. The man's main talking point is to NOT trust the election process. He ain't serious about anything - our media is just milking it and he's down for the hustle too.

I don't think Biden has the gas in the tank for two-terms. He's already said early on its not his plan to do it. Things won't be smooth sailing. I doubt he flips on that....

in case you've missed it, Obama doesn't mean shyt to people and is a whole clown now, so his c/s doesn't mean anything. and i def think she'd run better against a man vs another woman.
Uh, Obama is the most influential person in the Democratic party. Having his blessing behind the scenes is the key to advancement. Dont listen to internet noise about Obama. Because that doesn't translate to the real world.

I dont see how she would run better against a man since she would have to deal with sexism.

sexism is priced in, it's easier to account for and it doesn't preclude a woman from winning - see hillary's popular vote - nor does her race - see obama. but when you have a white woman against a woman of color, the white woman wins every time.

lol @ heir she hasn't earned the support of the people...yet. if voters show they're not behind her, there's no way there isn't a competitive primary, Dems aint gonna just give the WH back after only four years. finding the most viable nominee is happening, if it's kamala, then cool, if aint, well we rolling in a different direction

edit: and if rethugs really run one of their white women, kamala is toast
a woman isnt winning the republican primary. those voters are going to pick whoever the most red meat alpha male on the stage
