wait a "shooting" guard averaged more "shots" than a center?..wow

Kobe played more minutes also, rarely got into foul trouble

kobe had zero business shooting more shots than a guy who shot 58% from the field over their stretch together. he played a minute more per game, and the fouls per game is basically identical. not really sure why thats relevant

The 4th quarters during the 3peat(specifically 01-02) were Kobe time. You can't be a sidekick if your closing games

Uh.....he was the sidekick, as shown in who received the MVP's during that run.

Stop with the revisionist history. Both were important, but Shaq was the main cog.

Kobe put up more points, steals, assists, rebounds and was a better free throw/deep ball shooter in his years with Shaq than Wade is in his years with Bron. But we call Kobe the sidekick? Why??

always love seeing the backwards logic employed by different people, and both are trying to elevate kobe. kobe played 4 minutes more per game, and took 2 more shots per game, but thats irrelevant when comparing him to wade whereas he played a minute more per game than shaq which is a game changer for his case to shoot more than shaq. :what:

kobe was quite obviously the sidekick. shaq was clearly the best player on that laker team during their run. shaq was one of the most dominant players of all-time and was in the prime of his career...it's not a slight to kobe to say he wasn't as good as shaq at that time.

and no, wade pretty much gets a pass for everything.

Look at the players respective MVP rankings during the course of those seasons.

Shaq getting the MVP in the Finals as well as the regular season when the duo of Shaq and Kobe were established shows just who ran the show.

It's AMAZING to me that people are now making the dynasty a matter of it being equal parts Shaq and Kobe when during its heyday, it was clearly Shaq's team.

WTF?

Wade also never had any series with Bron as good as Kobe against the Kings or against the spurs

2001 2nd Round Playoffs Kobe Bryant vs Sacramento Kings

35.0 ppg 9.0 rpg 4.3 apg 47%fg 20%3P 86%FT

2001 3rd Round Playoffs Kobe Bryant vs San Antonio Spurs

33.3 ppg 7.0 rpg 7.0 apg 51%fg 36%3P 77%FT

Also unlike Wade with Lebron, Kobe outplayed shaq in their game 7 Conference final

This thread shows that nikkas base their opinions purely on emotion. None of you have any statistical basis as to why Kobe's a bum sidekick & Wade isn't. None.

you brought up kobe having 0.1 more rebounds, 1 more point, and 0.5 assists in 4 more minutes and 2 extra shots per game as some large discrepancy between the 2 players, but we are the ones basing opinions on emotions?
