in any event, eli is too inconsistent during the regular season, he's had too many occasions of looking normal. he has many years left though, so im reserving judgement. same goes for peyton; he can still move up the charts.

John Elway has a career QB rating in the 70's and it took him a decade to put together a season worthy of being called elite. Inconsistency should be the last thing used in an argument for him

And yes I've seen "The Drive", I've also seen Peyton engineer the largest comeback in conference title history and I've seen Eli make two separate last minute drives to win Super Bowls

I voted for Eli. No one remembers what he did in 2007 vs the Green Bay Packers? Eli was going ham in one of the coldest games in Green Bay history. I remember favre approaching him after the game in awe and respect. :upsetfavre:

Also because Payton could never beat Brady and Eli took Brady's soul twice. Come to think of it he took Farvre's soul too after that game because next season he was on the jets looking :flabbynsick:

1. Teams beat other teams. I'm sure Peyton could've "beaten" Brady if his defense held the Pats to the 15.5 pts that the Giants surrended on avg. as opposed to the 26 that the Colts gave up on avg. in the playoffs to the Pats.

2. The Colts won the last time the Colts and Pats played and dominated the series most recently aka when the Pats defense stopped being the force it was and it became more of a quarterbacks league.

If your team had the ball with less than 2 minutes remaining and you needed a TD drive from your own 20 yd line, who would you take?

The answer to this question should be easy and should be the answer to the question that started this thread.

The Colts did not win the last time the Colts and Pats played. That was last year. They lost.

The year before that, they lost and Peyton ended the game with an INT to McCourty. How can you just sit here and blatantly lie?

The year prior the Patriots fielded the worst defense in the Bellicheck and Brady era and the Patriots still almost won that game if not for the fact that the Colts realized it was just a game of doubling Moss and Welker and no one else could get open. That and Kevin Faulk did get that first down, but whatever. They had to come back.

The year prior, Brady wasn't there. The year prior, they lost to the Pats.

So explain to me this recent winning streak.

There's quite a few QB's I'd take over manning in that situation

I think Peyton is the better QB, but Eli is growing into a QB near Peytons class and is clearly the more accomplished QB.

I was referencing the last playoff meeting when I mentioned the Colts winning that last time they played in response to the post I quoted which was referencing the playoffs. Context always helps.

In games with both Brady and Manning involved (including the playoffs) the Colts have won 4 of the last 6. Didn't say anything about a win streak. The Pats D aint' what it used to be and the league is more QB driven now. Now tell me what part of that did I make up?

New York sport fans always find new ways to disgust me smh

Peyton has 3 MVPs, a Super Bowl ring and carried a franshise for over decade. Eli building his resume but folks still on the fence about getting in the HOF. Stop the madness.

You did not mention those things in your post and all you said was that Peyton started winning when Brady's defense wasn't what it used to be. They have had two playoff games since that time. 06 and 07. It's 1 and 1.

So unless you were counting the regular season, how in the world was I was supposed to take that? Who else would use something that statistically insignificant to make a point? The Colts haven't beaten the Pats in a playoff game in 6 years.

So you know that you were mentioning the regular season and so I don't get this sideways bullshyt you're trying to play now and reworking your argument. You tried to make it seem like defense was the only difference in those Pats and Colts match ups. Brady performed a lot better against Peyton when his team was inferior than vice versa.

But back to the subject, Peyton is better than Eli. Eli is just a better 4th quarter player, but the defense has always been the reason the Giants beat the Pats. That safety and INT were why the Pats lost. Not Eli.

Peyton is the better QB of course BUT Eli has gained a lot of respect from me....Dude takes so much criticism and hate and still carries himself with the same old 'dumb' look on his face! He has more heart than I and many others thought.

But he aint technically better than Peyton.

I was talking to someone else who knew what I was talking about so what need is there to clarify? :mindblown: How you gonna jump in on a convo, say some off base shyt due to a lack on knowledge, and then act like something was wrong with me for not breaking some shyt down for you whom I wasn't even talking too? :what:

I don't recall that Colts/Pats playoff game in 06. Oh yeah because it didn't happen. :wtf:

I didnt' rework shyt. The Pats dominated the series when their D was at it's best. Once the D fell off and the league started becoming more pass happy the Colts starting winning. That is what it is.

yall need to stop underrating peytons clutchness he has more 4th quarter comebacks and gamewinning drives than anyy active qb. yall talking like hes romo or some shyt. i never seen a qb with a ring get called not clutch. Yall overrating the hell out of eli's clutchness though alot of them big moments yall bringing up should of been interceptions had they captilized we would be having a different conversation.
