Uncertain grounds
John Elway has a career QB rating in the 70's and it took him a decade to put together a season worthy of being called elite. Inconsistency should be the last thing used in an argument for him

And yes I've seen "The Drive", I've also seen Peyton engineer the largest comeback in conference title history and I've seen Eli make two separate last minute drives to win Super Bowls

aight obviously you have a problem with elway for some reason :umad:

youve also seen peyton have happy feet and botch it in the clutch. dont deny it.

If your team had the ball with less than 2 minutes remaining and you needed a TD drive from your own 20 yd line, who would you take?

The answer to this question should be easy and should be the answer to the question that started this thread.

peyton has plenty of them drives too. eli on a bunch of them drives had damn near pics people tend to forget about that

Because they didn't happen. Every QB has damn near picks. That's so stupid.

No what's stupid is ignoring fukkups just because the other team didn't capitalize on it. Throwing the ball right to the other team is a fukkup and is not clutch. The fact that the DB dropped the pick doesnt' change the fact the it was a bad decision/throw and that it was not a clutch play.

Yes I'm mad that someone who has a QB rating comparable with Kyle Orton, and who outside of one year never lead the league in any QB related category, is being argued for being a better QB than Peyton

Absolutely furious :stopitslime:

Yes Peyton has made mistakes in big games, so has Elway. Peyton's individual accomplishments also shyt on Elway's, dont deny that.

That's not the point. The point is that you can't count "almost". They don't count. Furthermore, it's damn near impossible to detect who f*cked up in a lot of instances. Wrong route by receiver? Not enough depth on route? Miscommunication? It's pretty pathetic when your debate dwindles to sh*t that didn't happen.

The bad throw did happen and that is what we are talking about. Unless you beleive Eli has special powers to prevent dbs from catching his bad throws, his bad throws that didn't get picked off are not any different from Peyton or any other qbs who did. He just got a second chance. You don't get props for good fortune. It's just like if you drive drunk and don't hit anyone. That doesn't mean your decision making was any better than a person who drove drunk and hit someone. You just got lucky.

What bad throw are you referring to?

The throw right to Asante in the first SB. The two throw to multiple 9ers dbs that the nikkas crashed into each other trying to get a hold to in last years NFC title game.

Other qbs have had recievers run the wrong route in crunch time and had it result in a pick. You can't pick and chose which guys you wanna look at all the factors for and which guys you wanna be cut and dry with.

No it happened he threw a pass to the defense. The fact that the defense didnt' capitalize does not reflect on him. If old boy had dropped that pass Peyton threw right at him a couple years ago in the SB it would not have made Peytons throw any better. I'm being consistent in my analysis. Do you look into who ran the wrong route with other qbs as well?

Of course I look into if they ran the wrong route with other QBs. I tell ya what else doesn't reflect on him...imaginary interceptions. Simply put, you don't know who was at fault and, more importantly...they didn't happen.

Exactly almost picks , that's how the cookie crumbles the giants took advantage of their opportunity while the pats didn't
