Them 83 eps were piffified... I especially love the Gap Band/Yarbrough & Peoples, Flash & Furious/Evelyn King and the Midnight Star/Jeffrey Osborne ones... the Rick James one was mis-listed tho- ended up bein the Manhattans.

did they take soul train off the air?

all those names were from texas, except killer mike who looks like hes from texas. thats why i said it reads like a bio of a local legend. nothing wrong with that. i like k-rhino.

i dont like the way tv-one brushes off kool g.rap whenever his name is mentioned in these docs. like on big daddy kane's joint, and when........supahead had her episode on "life after"(do they still make episodes for that show?) on the supahead joint, they referred to him as a young up-n-coming rapper or some chit.

out the juice crew, roxanne shante & biz markie have a better chance of getting episodes than kool g rap.
out of the firm, nas & foxy brown will definiely get an episode. AZ prolly wont even get considered, SADLY.

I deliberately said those names in relation to the potential episode, many others I could have mentioned such as Canibus, Wise Intelligent etc.

Is it, how do the brush him off? If so that isn't cool at all, G Rap is a certified legend no doubt. Really? That's crazy.

They could maybe doa whole Juice Crew episode, that could be really cool...

i'll backtrack a bit. im not gonna say they brushed him off, but they couldve mentioned him in a more revered light when his name came up. especially on the supahead joint.

Don Cornelius

Nah, they covered that already when they did the Soul Train documentary a couple of years ago. Went into Don's whole background, dude was rocking three-piece suits off the BAT and was one of the first reporters to cover the civil rights movement in Chicago.

I disagree, though, I think a DJ Quik episode would be amazing, and it's not like he's UNKNOWN. Quik is TRULY "unsung". Plus, he has mad drama in his story that would make for an amazing episode (e.g., gang ties, beef with Eiht, death threats after Kelly Park Crip got stomped out at Death Row party, etc.).

But AGAIN....for the umpteenth time.....they need to do an episode on Loose Endz. And PLEASE don't do one on Soul II Soul BEFORE a Loose Endz episode, that would be stupid. :stopitslime:

My favorite episodes, in no particular order:
  • Midnight Star
  • The Spinners
  • The Fat Boys
  • The Whispers (LOL at the pimps in Oakland being mad at them for making "Olivia")
  • Shalamar
  • Klymaxx
  • Angela Winbush (that's my girl right there)
  • Mikki Howard (that's my OTHER girl right there)
  • Atlantic Starr
  • Full Force (REALLY good episode)
  • Con Funk Shun (the story about Michael Cooper and the other dude both dating the same woman and fighting in the studio over her during the recording of "Love's Train"....classic stuff)
Also, that "Unsung" episode that they did on Disco Music was really, really good. I would put that one in my Top 10.

My Pops Forever RIP
the Rick James one doesn't even touch the Behind the Music he did. Granted, he was alive for that one and went in-depth himself, but still.

side note: TVOne is probably so happy Don Cornelius died because without these old Soul Train clips, what would Unsung show?

TVOne should have more in their library than Soul Train footage and that Snoop Dogg picture.
