I can't argue with someone, especially a 9ers fan who believes Joe is the best QB ever

but he damn sure is not a better passer than Dan

Better passer? Does that help you sleep at night?

You act like i`m the only one who thinks this, the top 100 from NFL network sure thinks Joe was better too.

You seem like you want to make excuses. Like The Dolphins were 52 bums and Dan Marino.

You seem to like to couch things as excuses when you can't refute what one brings up to you.

No one said "Like The Dolphins were 52 bums and Dan Marino" You did.

I'll repeat...

Because he was the only weapon his team had and he wasn't his team's GM to get him and their defense other weapons.

It's really that simple and it's clear that you'll ignore these things.

WAlter Payton has a 3.7 yards per carry average in the playoffs.

His fortunes changed one year.

I was a 49er fan back then. I have an embarrassing photo of me rocking a huge flattop and wearing a Craig/Montana/Rice charactiture shirt back in 88.

No....Montana was not a better passer than Marino.

Whoa, now I see where our rivalry really comes from.

You`re always welcome back, i`ll bring an extra jersey on September 30th, you prefer Davis, Willis, Gore, Smith, A Smith, Crabtree? White or red?

Why does Dan's passer rating drop 10 points in the playoffs?

Why is Dan 8-10 in his playoff career?

Whereas Montana's QB rating goes up 3 points in the playoffs and he has a 16-7 record with 4 rings?

That's why Joe will always be better, and you can put it on the team or whatever, but Joe had a QB rating of 95 in the playoffs, Dan had a QB rating of 77 in the playoffs.

At the end of the day, this game is about what you do when it counts the most.
Alot of TEAM and ORGANIZATIONAL factors in those numbers.

I totally get anyone, especially a die hard 49er fan considering Montana to be the GOAT...I get it.

For me, I've never seen a better pure passer than Dan Marino.

We won't agree...it's all good

to be fair the Dolphins did field some good defenses during Marino's tenure, 1984, 1990, 1998 comes to mind

those two interceptions in Denver in 1998 playoff will always keep me honest about Marino's playoff performances

he did throw two INT in the Superbowl against the 48ers too :to:

That is still no explanation why Marino would be great in December, but not in January. So he was the only weapon? So who was catching all these balls and TD's from September-December?

I`m not ignoring anything, i`m going by the numbers and how his play dropped in the playoffs. That's a fact.

And he had top 10 defenses at times, he still didn't win anything.

Have you taken a look at Montana's stats in "the catch" game?

I`ll say this, Marino was much more physically gifted than Montana when it came to throwing the ball.

I don't think you can chalk a 10 point dip in passer rating up to team and organization, because he was playing great with these teams in the regular season putting up those record breaking numbers.

I know breh, but as a fins fan, I put up with too much trying to excuse Dan's playoff performance with his defense/running game performance and I've grown sick of it

it remains true to a certain extent

but Dan did fukk up a certain points when he shouldn't have

that's just what it is
