I`ll say this, Marino was much more physically gifted than Montana when it came to throwing the ball.

I don't think you can chalk a 10 point dip in passer rating up to team and organization, because he was playing great with these teams in the regular season putting up those record breaking numbers.
Yeah, that's the bottom line for me....he is the most physically gifted that I've seen at that position.

His release, his accuracy down the field....shyt was :whoo:

Whenever a Dolphins game would be televised back in then, I made sure to tune in.

I get all of the other factors that go against his claim as the best....I def do....just wish he had a running game and a great defense at the same time. It's like he always had one at a time, never a combination of them, whether it was o-line, defense, WRs....and NEVER a running game

:heh:

He knows what he's doing, I think he perfected a way to troll me and I to troll him

BTW, yall heard ESPN and Scouts Inc. rated Mark Sanchez as the 31st best QB in the NFL, and they didn't even rank Luck, RG3, Weeden and Tannehill.

What a good list.

Yeah, he only set numerous rookie passing records. :heh:

Then only got hurt and sacked like 40 times in just several games last year.

Give him a decent line and someone to throw to, and Sams a top 10 QB

He a decent rookie year. In the all important sophomore campaign he regressed heavily.

Bum until proven otherwise.

EDIT: Just realized who I was talking to. :umad:

I agree with you, him and Peyton to me are identical. Because as a fan of the game you're absolutely awed by their physical ability to throw the ball. But there is something missing from both of them, like that piece of art-work with a tiny stain in the upper right corner.

When the 49ers played Peyton the past decade I was literally scared, every time he dropped back I was nervous it was gonna be a 45 yard TD strike. Never felt that way about any QB ever.

But when he was in the playoffs, I always had this feeling "The fukkup is right around the corner"

That shyt is, how do they say.....cray?

I think measuring a single player's greatness by how many championships he has is a bit unfair. Championships are team efforts.

Brady didn't hit any game winning field goals nor did he make any crucial defensive stops in any of those championships, but when it comes to evaluating QBs, people like to put him over his peers because of ring total.

We as fans don't also take coaching into account. The Bell system is a great reason why Brady/Cassell are successful

I`m not counting just championships with Brady, Brady also has the record for TD's in a single season.

Brady's got the big numbers to go along with the rings

Good luck with people taking those things into account.

I think people take that stuff into account, but when you discuss Peyton it's not like he just had a so-so record in the playoffs, no he was a loser in the playoffs.

I mean you see games where he was blanked by NYJ, other games they only scored 13 points.

It's the whole body of work, If Manning was 12-8 in the playoffs or something, people wouldn't be as harsh on him.
